Alexander James Doody has extensive education and work experience. He received a 2:1 in German from the University of Oxford, Exeter College. His work experience includes volunteering at a credit union, working at an art gallery in Germany to practice German, and interning in the quotes department at Aviva and at banks. Additionally, he has leadership roles like secretary of the Gilbert and Sullivan society and as a news reporter, and participated in fundraising, debating, choir, and sailing.

Creative Bedfordshire - Starting Out & Moving Forward - Networking July 2016 Creative Bedfordshire
If you work in the arts, run a creative business, are a freelance artist, actor, producer, maker or musician (or commission them), or are just curious, this network is for you. Creative Bedfordshire Networking events take place across Bedfordshire. Creative Networking is free of charge to attend thanks to the support of Central Bedfordshire Council, Bedford Borough Council and Bedford Creative Arts.
July Creative Networking has a focus on Starting Out & Moving Forward.
We will hear short 5 Minute talks on the subject from three guest speakers. The evening also includes a chance to shout-out about your own work and needs, and to chat informally. Parking is free (after 6pm). Refreshments including alcohol can be purchased from the View Cafe team.

Gayle Storey - Fine Artist
Gayle Storey is a Fine Artist and her Studio is based in Dunstable. She attended the University for the Creative Arts at Canterbury and received a Distinction for MA in Fine Art and her work has been featured in international publications and media. In 2015-2016 Gayle was an AA2A Artist in Residence at the University of Bedfordshire. Gayle also lectures as a specialist tutor.

Lizzie Dunford
Lizzie is Senior Visitor Experience Officer at Dunstable Downs and Chiltern Gateway Centre and has worked for the National Trust for six years. Coming from a background in Heritage Conservation and communicating literary heritage, she is now looking at ways of deepening local communities’ connection with the Downs through creativity and storytelling.

Secretary - Oxford University Gilbert and Sullivan society- a diverse role- liaised with individuals and
handled promotion of events; involved in a successful production of The Mikado, helping with front of
house, design of promotional material and venue booking.
Oxford Finance Society - Attend talks by senior figures from the financial sector including talks given by
the CEO of UBS on creating more responsible and accountable banks, and a presentation on changes to
the financial industry since 2008 given by the CEO of Deutsche bank.
Telethon fundraiser- Exeter college- Worked with the Exeter College Development office to raise funds
for the College’s annual fund. Spoke with a large number of Alumni from around the world, including
some who were difficult to persuade or had other issues that stopped them from donating. I worked as
part of a team, successfully raising £7000 during the campaign.
Cherwell- successfully applied to be a news reporter for the Cherwell- a student operated newspaper in
Oxford- write weekly articles to tight deadlines, seek out quotes, speak to a wide variety of people on a
wide variety of student issues, from Lego MPs to racismand the pro-life/pro-choice debate.
