Prepared and managed the financial/legal aspects of the spin out of BU Location
Based Technologies (London, UK) from NXP Semiconductors, which resulted in a
successful closing in March 2008 with the establishment of spinout company Geotate
BV.
02.2007-05.2008 Financial Director NXP Semiconductors, BU NXP Software
Rejoined BU NXP Software as Financial Director after successful completion of
restructuring of NXP Semiconductors’ BU Emerging Business activities. Managed the
Finance/G&A and further development of BU NXP Software, grew worldwide
profitable turnover to 30+ MEu.
01.2006-02.2007 CFO Philips Semiconductors BU Emerging Business
Managed the Financial/G&A aspects of the transfer of Philips Software activities into
the BU Emerging Business of Philips’ Product Division Semiconductors, while
assuming integral financial responsibility for the BU Emerging Business activities, a
broad portfolio of 10+ incubation activities ranging from pre-seed to revenue
generating activities including Semiconductor, Software and Services units with a
total size of app 300 FTE worldwide and total revenue of app 30MEu. Activities
covered broad global markets including a.o. Solid State Lighting, Healthcare, Mobile
Phones Software and Identification.
In 1H2006 became responsible as project leader for the restructuring and
disentanglement of BU Emerging Business from Philips into the newly formed NXP
Semiconductors. Successfully managed and closed all relevant M&A and post
merger activities.
04.2003-06.2006 CFO Philips Software & Philips CryptoTec
Assumed integral financial responsibility for new divisional activity within Philips
“Philips Software”, which directly reported via the Division CEO into the Philips Board
of Management. In this function responsible for implementation and setting up of new
divisional financial structure (P&L-Balance sheet) of Philips Software with central
division HQ in Eindhoven, Netherlands, and regional Sales and R&D centres
worldwide with target first year turnover of 10MEu and 200FTE in size. Financial
responsibility for setting up 4 years business plan of the group including
organisation/structuring activities among which divestments and acquisitions of 10+
FTE units worldwide. Financially managed Philips Software within first 3 years from
scratch to 20+MEu profitable turnover.
Managed the F&A activities of Philips’ BU Philips CryptoTec, reporting to the CEO of
Philips Software to reach a profitable 20+MEu turnover and subsequent divestment of
the BU Philips CryptoTec. Project-lead the divestment of this Conditional Access unit,
resulting in a successful divestment to IrDeto BV per 1st
of April 2006 at a 1.5 multiple
on sales and a total M&A process-time of 6 months.

3. Integral financial management of a business unit under restructuring with sales of 26
Mio Euro, and a payroll of 200FTE. Co-managed the restructuring of the business
unit and subsequent divestment, including leading participation in the corporate M&A
divestment project. CO-managed the business from heavy lossmaking to renewed
profitability prior to divestment.
06.1996 – 09.2002 Financial Controller Philips Business Line Data in Hasselt (Belgium)
Financial manager of a growing business line of 700FTE, active in developing,
manufacturing and selling of CD-DVD drives in the PC market, with a turnover of in
between 0,5 and 1 BEu The Business Line included R&D, Operations (project
management, supply chain mgt., pilot-production in Hasselt and mass production in
Gyor, Shanghai, and Calamba, Philippines), Product Management and Strategy,
Marketing and Sales. In this organization I was responsible for the financial
processes within the BL from global perspective (worldwide)
As in 1996 this BL started from scratch, I gained a lot of experience in the whole
lifecycle of a growing/emerging business including growth pains and periods of
success and failure.
Also learnt how to from financial perspective manage a complete stand alone
business within Philips from development to sales, including the establishment of the
supply chain. Managed financial/legal aspects of the establishment of a new factory
start up in Hungary, and later on in the Philippines (Contract Manufacturing), went
through 3 major restructuring cycles (closing factory Hungary, 3 Restructuring rounds
in Hasselt). During last year prepared and co-managed the financial aspects of co-
operation with Benq and Sanyo.

In this role responsible for managing the Receivables position of Philips Lighting
Belgium. Especially focused on managing the more complex accounts and
responsible for financial reporting, target setting and follow up.

payment behaviour, and coupling with internal ERP/F&A processes. Contributed to
significant improvements of the key business processes of Philips Lighting Belgium.
