Greece, located in Southern Europe, features a long coastline and numerous islands, with Athens as its capital. The Fokaia Robotics Team (fo.r.t.) from Old Fokaia, consisting of students in grades 5 and 6, focuses on solving local problems, such as providing healthcare for stray dogs. Their project, titled 'Be Responsible', emphasizes teamwork and responsibility, culminating in their first international competition participation with their robot named Fortbot.

Greece is a southern Europe country, with Gav-
dos island being the southernmost point of the
continent. It has the 11th longest coastline with
an average of 2500 islands. Athens is the capi-
tal, with some of the most renown monuments
in the history of human kind.

Municipality of Saronikos is based
in Kalyvia Thorikou, with a beautiful
23Km of coastline. Along the coastline
is the harbor of Old Fokaia, our team’s
town. Saronikos is also very near the
Eleftherios Venizelos International Air-
port and only 30 minutes by car from
Athens.

Ci.C.L.O.P.S.
FO.R.T. (Fokaia Robotics Team) is a Greek team,
established on September 2016, cosisting of 15 5th
and 6th grade students. This is our first participation
in an international competition!
Our way of work has a
name - Ci.C.L.O.P.S. (Cir-
cle Cooperative Learning
Oriented Puzzle System).
We work in subgroups to
solve a problem. Each
group provides a unique
solution and we select
the most appropriate one.
Improvements are made
in the same way.
«Be Responsible»
As a team, we like to solve everday
problems. We identified the prob-
lem of stray dogs in our area and we
decided to establish low cost, high
quality health care stations. We cre-
ated an e-map to show the locations
of these stations to all people.
We learned to share, to collaborate and to be responsible. We
believe that the world around us can be improved if we all work
together on a common goal. The title of our project is “Be Re-
sponsible” and this is what we try to achieve as a team, behave
responsibly in everything we do.
Fortbot
A lot of time and effort was put in our robot. The name ‘Fortbot’
comes from the town our robot was created. We had a good
time designing, building, programming and improving Fortbot.
