CV & PORTFOLIO
2. 2
To whom it may concern,
I Graduated from Central Saint Martins with a Bachelors in architecture, whilst there I worked
on a number of different projects that were cross-discipline.
Since graduating, I have been involved in an exciting variety of different projects, each of
which has given me a different insight and expanded my skill set. After I worked in a number
of London practices with a majority of the projects being private homes. I solely took on a
couple of projects whilst having direct contact with all the construction team & Clients learn-
ing about structure, detailing and design.
Since I went back to university to do a masters in Architecture at Glasgow school of art,
where I developed by skill sets further, where I found Model Making & 3D Computer Models
especially advantageous in explaining my design and became my tools to facilitate my final
Thesis proposal.
After I achieved my Masters, I joined Chris Richmond productions on an exciting feature film
called Barbarians set in Godalming.
After my first wrap, I have been working for Chloe Brady on an exciting Promotional Video for
Vans. Where I solely designed an installation, Stage & lighting where the rapper ‘jepgmafia’
will be performing at house of vans.
Some of this involved:
Barbarians (Film)
- Drawing a full set of construction drawings (Plans,Sections, Elevations, Window detailing
and 3D views)
- Liaising with the construction team
- Surveying the whole location and completing a full set of existing drawings
- Super imposing furniture and fittings within the location so you can visualise variations of
the set before it was dressed
- Creating a 1:1 plan floor plan so the director could rehearse the scenes off set
- Creating mood boards for the Director
-Dressing the set
- Designing a surrounding housing development around the location, that was 3D printed and
used as a prop within the film
Vans (Promo)
- Solely designed whole entrance, stage installation and lighting for the Concert.
-Full set of drawings and detailed 3D renders for the Director
- Liaising with construction & lighting
I gained a large amount of experience working on ‘Barbarians’ & for Vans. These skills I learnt
can be implemented within future films jobs. I found the disciplines and skills used in archi-
tecture and film production were complimentary. I can use my 7 years of experience within
the built environment to bring reality into the fabricated film world.
I am creative, enthusiastic, have attention to detail and willing to work to tight deadlines.
Thank you for your consideration.
Best Wishes,
Beau McCarthy

The project is a Grade 2 listed Georgian terrace house. I worked with Gaby
Higgs only, to design a compact neat studio flat where each floor made up a
flat. The space was extremely tight so everything in the flat was designed in a
bespoke fashion to make use of all available space.
On this project I completed all the drawings myself, under the Supervision of
Gaby Higgs.
