2. Chris asks…
Would a one-hour layover in Kuala Lumpur Airport be enough time
to make my connecting flight?
I am arriving (international) at 8:20pm. Then Id have to go through immigration and customs and
re-check my baggage. Next flight to Langkawi would leave at 9:15.
I dont know the layout of KL International Airport, Ive never been there. Do you think 55
minutes is enough time to make my next flight?
Kaki Cuti Cuti Malaysia answers:
Wow, it would be very rush for you.
8.20pm is the aircraft touches down time, by the time you disembark the aircraft it would
probably already 8.38pm. Once you have disembarked, head straight to the aero train which will
take you to the main terminal, that’s where the immigration counters and customs are. I
estimate that you’ll reach the immigration at not later than 8.35pm.
Unfortunately the time between 7.00pm and 10.00pm is the peak hours for arrivals at KLIA.
Going through immigration is a breeze but if you find the queue to be too long, try go to the
counter directly and tell the officer your predicament, show him your connecting ticket I am sure
the officer as well as other passengers will understand.
After leaving the immigration counter, there are few TV screens showing the lane for luggages
for your flight. Check the right lane of your flight and walk straight to the lane. Here is probably
where your problem starts. KLIA is notorious for delay in luggage claims. Assuming that your
luggage had already arrived by the time you get there, i estimate that you’ll get through the
custom at 8.50pm.
Once you have come out to the departure hall ( Level 3 ), head straight to Level 5 to check in for
your flight to Langkawi. With about 20 minutes before departure, i am not sure if the airlines
would allow you to check in. Again try talk to them, I believe they’ll understand. Once you get
your boarding pass, walk to the left of the terminal and take the escalator down to the
immigration. Once you have cleared the immigration, rush to the departure gate. For domestic
flight, the departure hall is in the same terminal, so you don’t have to take the aero train. KLIA

Robert asks…
when i reach kuala lumpur airport, can i get a cheap fare tickets
from Air Asia for Langkawi?
Kaki Cuti Cuti Malaysia answers:
That depends on how long you made the booking in advance. In general, AirAsia is cheaper
compare to MAS if you do your booking at least a week in advance… However, since the ‘floor’
pricing of MAS has been lifted by the government recently, you might as well expect a sharp
drop of MAS fare. The flights to Langkawi runs 3 times daily.. The first one at 0830 hrs, 1045hrs
and last one aound 1750hrs. Note that all these are in local time.

5. 1- Average price of chalet let say RM 85 – RM 120 near the beach (5-10 minutes walk)
2- Cheap chalet RM 50 – RM 65 quite far from beach (10-15m drive) but near to langkawi
airport.
3- Expensive hotel ranges RM 180 – RM 300 very near to the beach.
All considering having the same quality of facility & cleanliness.
