Household goods shipments to Afghanistan require a bill of lading or air waybill consigned to the client's name, company, or embassy along with an inventory list and passport copy. Duty free entry is available for diplomats and those guaranteed by the Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Large quantities of the same item are considered commercial goods and subject to different rules. It is recommended to check with an Afghan agent before shipping to avoid customs fines. All shipments may be dutiable and require approval from an Afghan agent prior to shipping.
