operating moving companies that intensive inspections and scanning with X rays will be performed to all shipments therefore customs clearance time
will be extended to approx. two weeks and that will bring along the inevitable following associated charges:

FCL 20’ containers: Minimum of USD 2,000.00

All bills of lading must contain:
Destination Agent’s CUIT number (unique tax identification code).
Customer’s name as in passport followed by CUIT, CUIL or CDI. If the individual is not a resident, and does not have tax identification code,
Passport number must be informed.
If the party to be notified is different from the consignee, the CUIT number of that party must also be provided.
Consignation then should be as follows:
Complete name of Consignee (as in passport) followed by customer’s CUIT, CUIL, CDI or Passport Number c/o
DESTINATION AGENT followed by their CUIT
Address and telephone
If this information is not on the bills of lading, the cargo will not be allowed to be registered with Customs and will be blocked. This will cause delays
and potential fines on the account of the cargo.
The first 6 digits of the NCM (harmonized code) number are not required for household goods shipments and vehicle imported as unaccompanied
baggage.
Removal Goods Returning Argentine Citizens:
• Valid and original passport showing clearly
that the shipper has been a resident in
another country for a period not less than
12 months, and that such residence has
not been interrupted with entries into
Argentina for more than 60 days
(accumulative) in the last 12 months prior
to shipper’s re-entry.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
Shipment must arrive in Argentina within six
months of shipper's first entry into the country, or
no more than three months

to coordinate with customs.)

Foreign citizens with temporary residence visa
can import Household goods on a temporary
admission basis in accordance with the present
guarantee system. The belongings must be
guaranteed (bonded) for the duration of the visa
and must be renewed concurrently.
Goods can be guaranteed by:
• Paying taxes and duties (50% on Customs
value)
• A insurance company through a “Caution
policy” (PÓLIZA DE CAUCIÓN)
• A company that is registered as an
import/export agent in Argentina and has
its signature registered with Customs
Authorities (this is the more common way
used by established companies)
physically present at customs for clearance

an Argentine Citizen returning or
Foreign Citizen with Permanent Residence and
does not comply with these Customs
Regulations, taxes and duties will be applicable
at a rate of 50 %, calculated on the FOB value of
the shipment.
As per new Customs requirements, shipper’s
passport must show a note written and stamped
by Customs skating that shipper is expected to
receive a shipment of household goods
(“Manifiesta esperar equipaje no acompañado”)
that will allow the importation of the shipment
into Argentina.
This will be mandatory for all shippers regardless
of their nationality and the type of Visa they hold
(but not for shippers importing the moves with
Diplomatic Franchise).
In other words, each shipper must declare at the
moment of entering Argentina (at the airport and
to Customs officers) that he/she is expecting a
move to get this fact clearly noted in the
passport. This will allow us to perform the
Customs clearance process.
Returning Argentina shippers may bring in
household goods shipments duty-free provided
that they have not spent more than 60 days
within Argentina in the year prior to re-entry.
All shippers must present their passport with no

residence visa has been obtained, the goods
must be nationalized and the guarantee will be
cancelled.
Note: In the case of air shipments, the move of
foreigners holding a Temporary Visa, the move
can be imported duty free only if the consignee
has a 1 (one) year Visa. The shipper must pay
taxes and duties if he holds a 3 or 6 months
Temporary visa.

For sea shipments, as of March 1st
2006,
persons holding a tourist visa intending to
import personal household effects are required
to present proof that an application has been
made to Immigrations Authorities
(Comprobante del Ministerio del Interior -
Direccion Nacional de Migraciones - Mesa de
Entrada) requesting a one-year work or any
other kind of visa in order to authorize the
importation duty free under the guarantee
system.
Diplomats' removals Diplomats / Military Personnel:
A Diplomatic Franchise must be obtained from
the Argentine Ministry of Foreign Affairs by the
Diplomatic Mission or the Official Foreign
Organization where the shipper is officially
employed.
No impediments provided that the effects belong
to the removed diplomat.

Citizens returning of foreigners holding a
Permanent Residence Visa in Argentina.
Foreigners holding a Temporary Visa can
import firearms just on
temporary basis for 3 months (please check
with us before shipping the cargo).
The import permit (permanent or temporary )
must be issued and obtained before the
shipment arrival and on personal basis at
“RENAR” (Registro Nacional de Armas). The
Customer must get a Certificate from the
Argentine Consulate at origin with the
details of the firearms. This document is
mandatory and the customer won’t be able to
start the procedure without it.
Customs will verify firearms and provide a
certificate for the owner to help him get an
importation authorization from the "RENAR"
(fire arms governmental office). Firearms will
be kept under Custom’s custody until the
owner completes all procedures at “RENAR”.
They must be detailed at the packing list and
loaded at the door of container or be
accessible for the inspection.
Customs authorities will held the arms until the
Customer gets the import permit from the
RENAR.
Alcoholic beverages Packing list. Up to 30 liters of wine plus up to 30 liters of any
other alcoholic beverages can be imported duty
free.
Sealed bottles are subject to duty payment.
It is recommended not to import alcohol in
sealed bottles along with the shipment of used
household and/or personal effects.

Argentinean Government adopted ISPM-15
(International standards for Phytosanitary
Measures Publication 15) Guidelines for
Regulating Wood Packaging Material in
International Trade (aka NIFM-15) to
standardise the treatment of wood packing
materials used for the transport of goods.
Argentina has officially adopted ISMP
standards regarding treatment of wood packing
materials since March 1st,
2006. Please note that the stamp in the wood
won’t be sufficient. You will have to send the
proper certificate.
Please send this certificate together with the
shipment documentation.
Effective March 2006, any shipments into
Argentina in wooden packaging (wooden boxes,
Liftvans, cases, crates, pallets, trunks, barrels,
drawers, wooden cuts), which were not treated
as stipulated by IPPC with Methyl Bromide MB
(the minimum temperature should not be less
than 10°C and the minimum exposure time
should not fall below 16 hours); or heated
Treatment (HT at a temperature of 56°C for a
minimum of 30 minutes) will not be allowed in
Argentina and will be returned to the origin
country under the shipper/origin Agent’s
expenses.
In case insects or pests are found within the
wood, Authorities will proceed to the destruction
or incineration of the shipment.
The inspection to conform with these Norms will
be completed at the port entry.
The wood packing material must be marked in a
visible location on each article, on at least two
opposite sides of the article with a legible and
permanent mark in black ink. Labels and
adhesives are not allowed. The mark should be
as follows:
This does not apply to wood packing materials
manufactured of:
• Raw wood of 6 mm thickness or less
• Processed wood produced by glue, heat
and pressure, or a combination thereof
• Plywood 5triwall) sheets
• Agglomerated sawdust sheet
• Oriented wooden fibre sheets

Goods Documents required Customs Prescriptions Remarks Update 16 July 2010 Due to recent drug’s finding that have taken place in Buenos Aires port involving household goods moves, Argentine Customs has informed to all operating moving companies that intensive inspections and scanning with X rays will be performed to all shipments therefore customs clearance time will be extended to approx. two weeks and that will bring along the inevitable following associated charges: LCL’s up to 10 cbm: Minimum of USD 1,200.00 FCL 20’ containers: Minimum of USD 2,000.00 FCL 40’ container: Minimum of USD 2,500.00 Update for Sea Shipments 31 May 2010 (Resolución General de la Administración Federal de Ingresos Públicos Nro. 2744/09) All bills of lading must contain: Destination Agent’s CUIT number (unique tax identification code). Customer’s name as in passport followed by CUIT, CUIL or CDI. If the individual is not a resident, and does not have tax identification code, Passport number must be informed. If the party to be notified is different from the consignee, the CUIT number of that party must also be provided. Consignation then should be as follows: Complete name of Consignee (as in passport) followed by customer’s CUIT, CUIL, CDI or Passport Number c/o DESTINATION AGENT followed by their CUIT Address and telephone If this information is not on the bills of lading, the cargo will not be allowed to be registered with Customs and will be blocked. This will cause delays and potential fines on the account of the cargo. The first 6 digits of the NCM (harmonized code) number are not required for household goods shipments and vehicle imported as unaccompanied baggage. Removal Goods Returning Argentine Citizens: • Valid and original passport showing clearly that the shipper has been a resident in another country for a period not less than 12 months, and that such residence has not been interrupted with entries into Argentina for more than 60 days (accumulative) in the last 12 months prior to shipper’s re-entry. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: Shipment must arrive in Argentina within six months of shipper's first entry into the country, or no more than three months before. (To enter before, contact us in advance to coordinate with customs.) Although it is not necessary for the shipper to be SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Foreigners With Temporary Resident Visa must pay taxes and duties for the importation of personal effects and household goods (50% on the FOB value) or should bring them into the country under temporary admission in accordance with the present guarantee system. Goods Documents required Customs Prescriptions Remarks • Two original B/L's or AWB's • Certificate of residence issued by Argentine Consulate in the country of origin Foreign citizens with permanent residence: Same Regulations as Argentine Citizens returning except the Consular certificate Foreign citizens with temporary residence visa: • Valid and original passport with 1 year visa (If possible, it is best to obtain resident visa at origin. Nevertheless, clearance of sea shipments can be performed with 1 year visa or “Residencia Precaria”. For air shipment, see note). • Two original B/L's or AWB's • Temporary Admission Forms (Guarantee Forms) Foreign citizens with temporary residence visa can import Household goods on a temporary admission basis in accordance with the present guarantee system. The belongings must be guaranteed (bonded) for the duration of the visa and must be renewed concurrently. Goods can be guaranteed by: • Paying taxes and duties (50% on Customs value) • A insurance company through a “Caution policy” (PÓLIZA DE CAUCIÓN) • A company that is registered as an import/export agent in Argentina and has its signature registered with Customs Authorities (this is the more common way used by established companies) physically present at customs for clearance formalities, he/she must be in the country to sign and certify some papers and provide us with his original passport. If shipper is an Argentine Citizen returning or Foreign Citizen with Permanent Residence and does not comply with these Customs Regulations, taxes and duties will be applicable at a rate of 50 %, calculated on the FOB value of the shipment. As per new Customs requirements, shipper’s passport must show a note written and stamped by Customs skating that shipper is expected to receive a shipment of household goods (“Manifiesta esperar equipaje no acompañado”) that will allow the importation of the shipment into Argentina. This will be mandatory for all shippers regardless of their nationality and the type of Visa they hold (but not for shippers importing the moves with Diplomatic Franchise). In other words, each shipper must declare at the moment of entering Argentina (at the airport and to Customs officers) that he/she is expecting a move to get this fact clearly noted in the passport. This will allow us to perform the Customs clearance process. Returning Argentina shippers may bring in household goods shipments duty-free provided that they have not spent more than 60 days within Argentina in the year prior to re-entry. If a permanent residence visa has been obtained, the goods must be nationalized and the guarantee will be cancelled. Note: In the case of air shipments, the move of foreigners holding a Temporary Visa, the move can be imported duty free only if the consignee has a 1 (one) year Visa. The shipper must pay taxes and duties if he holds a 3 or 6 months Temporary visa. Shipment must arrive to Argentina within six months of the shipper's entry into the country or three months before.

For sea shipments, as of March 1st 2006, persons holding a tourist visa intending to import personal household effects are required to present proof that an application has been made to Immigrations Authorities (Comprobante del Ministerio del Interior - Direccion Nacional de Migraciones - Mesa de Entrada) requesting a one-year work or any other kind of visa in order to authorize the importation duty free under the guarantee system. Diplomats' removals Diplomats / Military Personnel: A Diplomatic Franchise must be obtained from the Argentine Ministry of Foreign Affairs by the Diplomatic Mission or the Official Foreign Organization where the shipper is officially employed. Foreigners holding a Temporary Visa can import firearms just on temporary basis for 3 months (please check with us before shipping the cargo). Fumigation of imported and exported wooden crates Argentinean Government adopted ISPM-15 (International standards for Phytosanitary Measures Publication 15) Guidelines for Regulating Wood Packaging Material in International Trade (aka NIFM-15) to standardise the treatment of wood packing materials used for the transport of goods. Argentina has officially adopted ISMP standards regarding treatment of wood packing materials since March 1st, 2006. Please note that the stamp in the wood won’t be sufficient. You will have to send the proper certificate. Please send this certificate together with the shipment documentation. Effective March 2006, any shipments into Argentina in wooden packaging (wooden boxes, Liftvans, cases, crates, pallets, trunks, barrels, drawers, wooden cuts), which were not treated as stipulated by IPPC with Methyl Bromide MB (the minimum temperature should not be less than 10°C and the minimum exposure time should not fall below 16 hours); or heated Treatment (HT at a temperature of 56°C for a minimum of 30 minutes) will not be allowed in Argentina and will be returned to the origin country under the shipper/origin Agent’s expenses. In case insects or pests are found within the wood, Authorities will proceed to the destruction or incineration of the shipment. The inspection to conform with these Norms will be completed at the port entry. The wood packing material must be marked in a visible location on each article, on at least two opposite sides of the article with a legible and permanent mark in black ink.
