Curry College was established in 1879 as the School of Elocation in Boston, originally located on Commonwealth Avenue with Alexander Graham Bell as its first chancellor. It became the School of Expression in 1885 and was renamed Curry College in 1943 when it began awarding degrees. The school moved to its current location on Blue Hill Avenue in Milton in the 1950s and has since grown to over 3,800 students and expanded its campus through multiple new buildings over the last 10 years.
