Professional Experience:
Beca Pty Ltd
July 2014 – Present
Engineering Technician
After my short time sub consulting for Beca, I have been taken on full time to continue and
expand within the company.
Sub-Contractor, Beca
PL
Mar 2014 – July 2014
Technical Document
Author
At Beca I have expanded my skills on working with technical documents and working with
computer software. I have very quickly integrated myself as part of the team, assisting in
various different roles such as electrical system SME, document author, technical document
quality control as well as work with dynamic excel spreadsheet documents. My fast learner
approach and wide skillset has seen me excel in this position.
UWS Solar Car Project
Aug 2012 – Present
Electrical Team / Project
Manager
My work with the electrical team in the UWS solar car project is evident with the reliability of the
electrical system of the vehicle during the World Solar Challenge in 2013. Although we only
finished 11th, we had a world class electrical system which performed extremely well during the
event. I was critical part of the electrical team with my design and production work being the
heart of the system. Out of this success, I have now moved into the Project manager position,
and continue to push ahead with the electrical system design with further improvements for our
next attempt of the world solar challenge.
Acheron Project
Jun 2011– Apr 2012
Electronics Technician
I was invited to work on the Acheron Project working for an engineering company employed by
film director James Cameron to design, develop the electrical systems fitted to the submersible
“Deepsea Challenger” to dive to the deepest part of the ocean in 2012. I was a crucial part of
this team, quickly becoming part of virtually every system due to my wide skill set. It was for this
reason that I was also selected to accompany the submersible on its voyage for maintenance of
the electrical systems.
Raytheon Pty Ltd
Apr 2010 – Jun 2011
Training Developer
My Role at Raytheon was that of a Technical Training Developer for the “Air Warfare Destroyer
Project”. I used my technical knowledge of naval electrical systems to enable me to be the
Subject matter expert where needed for the course design. My fast learning with computer
systems, and quick work with computers also gained me a side job in assisting the IT. I became
a central part of the training team, across many roles and aspects of the training developing
lifecycle.

Royal Australian Navy
Sep 2002 – Apr 2010
Electronics Technician
During my career as an Electronics Technician in the Royal Australian Navy, I worked
extensively with many military electrical systems, through being the only electronics technician
on board, to being in charge of the PCB repair lab. I set a high standard of expertise which
caused me to be selected for the maintenance of experimental systems such as GPS tracking
systems and remote control gun systems. I completed many technical training courses for a
wide range of equipment, gaining me a very wide technical knowledge. My technical expertise
also gained me respect of all my fellow technicians, as I was considered the “go to guy” even
for systems I was not the maintainer. My work was officially recognised by receiving a
“Commanding officers Commendation” in 2009.
Digger Thiele Electrical
