WORK EXPERIENCE:
• Ericsson Network Engineer III: I have been working at Ericsson for the past 3 ½ years as a National Network
Engineer III within the National Technical Resources Team. My roles and responsibilities are to support
Ericsson’s field technicians that work on Sprint’s network by researching RAN equipment and writing MOPs,
job aids, test cases and scopes of work. This role has enabled me to stay in contact with many folks within
Sprint and Samsung so that I could do research and provide optimum support for Ericsson’s customer.
Listed are a couple of accomplishments I have attained within my role as an Ericsson National Network
Engineer III:
o Sprint Preventative Maintenance: I worked with Sprint to write a new comprehensive yearly
preventative maintenance plan for their national wireless network. My role included the writing of
the new Sprint/Ericsson maintenance scope of work, technical documentation and cost & time of
effort analysis to ensure the customer was getting the most for their money.
o Sprint (Cisco) Router Upgrade Projects: I took a lead role to research and write a comprehensive
router upgrade plan for Sprint’s national wireless network. My role included the writing of the new
Sprint/Ericsson Cisco router upgrade scope of work, project tracking, technical documentation and
cost & time of effort.
o I wrote and delivered Samsung trainings and MOPs for the Ericsson FSO technicians so that they
were up to speed on performing, installation, troubleshooting and maintenance work on Sprint’s
RAN network.
o I have recently been providing Airspan and Nokia eNB & UE relay trainings across the country to
field technicians to help support Sprint’s Mini Macro build.
• Ericsson Field Engineer III: Worked as an Ericsson Field Engineer III for 2 years, overseeing on a national
level, Sprint’s Network Vision deployment and cell site acceptance for their Samsung markets. This role
had permitted me to work with many groups within Sprint, Ericsson and Samsung and also helped to
strengthen my leadership and management skills. My roles and responsibilities included:
o Hiring, managing and training telecommunications and IT contractors in multiple markets around
the country.
o Meet with Sprint, Samsung and other 3rd
party vendor teams to work on network acceptance issues,
budget concerns, construction standards and staffing concerns around the country.
o I was tasked with tracking construction and acceptance projects in multiple markets with multiple
technicians to ensure that all work was getting completed in a timely manner and within the
allowed budget.
o I also was tasked with putting together training environments and technical resources for Ericsson’s
Field Service Organization teams to support service assurance needs for Sprint’s new wireless
network.
• Ericsson / Sprint Senior Field Engineer: Worked at Sprint / Ericsson for 12 years installing, testing and
troubleshooting Sprint’s wireless, fiber and IT networks as a Sr. Technician in the Great Lakes area.
o Many of my duties for Sprint and Ericsson within the IT and telecom industry were installing,
managing and providing support for Sprint’s cell sites, routers, Macro RAN cell site systems, fiber
deployment, construction projects and technician computer systems support.
ADDITIONAL SKILL SETS:
• Skilled with setting up and using test equipment such as Anritsu, JDSU, Agilent and TEMS Drive test gear.
• I am veteran at writing well organized and detailed reports, emails and MOPS.
• Proficient at heading up and coordinating projects with aggressive deadlines.
2. • Proficient at being self-motivated when working alone and have worked along side others to accomplish
difficult tasks in a timely manner.
• Skilled with writing and maintaining yearly budget plans
• Experienced at keeping an accurate inventory of spare parts and test equipment.
• Experienced at working along with employees and 3rd
party vendors on new project builds, capacity
augments and network infrastructure issues and resolutions.
• Skilled with reading construction, electrical and electronic blue prints and schematics.
• Thoroughly knowledgeable with Windows 8 and below, excel and word processor, Visio, PowerPoint,
terminal emulators, firewalls and IT networking.
• Experienced with traveling around the country for work meetings and submitting timely expense reports.
ACOMMPLISHMENTS:
• I have spent that past 3 years developing and maintaining a national training and certification program for
Ericsson field technicians that are required to work on Samsung and Cisco equipment. I have created many
documents and videos that technicians are required to take when they are hired at Ericsson and use over
the course of their tenure at Ericsson. This training program has helped to ensure that all technicians are
getting the required training to work on the customer’s network thus saving time and money for Ericsson in
the long run. This program received great reviews from the president of our organization and has become
a model for other Ericsson groups.
• In an effort to save Ericsson money on technician costs, I was able to review and supply to the field
technicians a data base of repeater and DAS manuals. Technicians would have to search high and low
beforehand to acquire all the pertinent information to successfully troubleshoot and maintain the
customer’s ever expanding list of equipment. The central database of technical information will save the
technician 90 minutes of research time per job, thus saving the Ericsson thousands of dollars on labor
costs.
