3. Personal Profile
I would describe myself as being a hardworking, intelligent and a
competent worker. I can use my problem solving and team work skills
to solve any proverbial ‘hurdles’ that come my way. I am able to work
in any sized group and can also take charge and organise a team. I
am proud in my work and make every effort to refine even the finest
details.
As Part of my role upon Conoco Philips I have to work alongside
other technicians and also on my own. The role involves both break
downs and planned preventative maintenance. This can cover a
variety of electrical and mechanical systems including HV motors,
Valve actuators and small power/ lighting, each task involves
paperwork and liaising with others e.g. area operators and
supervisors.
Working on day shifts my role requires me to work on many electrical
systems. I have worked on PLC control systems that control Motor
Control Centres. I have also worked on Rotork Valve actuators and I
am currently in charge of overhauling any actuator that is brought into
the workshop, this includes the organisation and coordination of multi
trades (Mechanical fitters and riggers) and the correct isolations. As
an electrician it is also my duty to carry out isolations for other trades
and verify them using the ISSOW system.
Other equipment I have worked on includes variable speed inverter
drives; these are used on out ventilation fans and also on our air feed
systems. These are maintained yearly and have to be tested for
safety. I have also worked on our abacus overhead crane systems
which are operated via remote control.
All the equipment that I have worked on has been for both
preventative maintenance and for break downs. For breakdowns we
liaise with operations and other trades to find faults. All faults are
recorded in both the equipment history and in the breakdown
notification.
4. Whilst serving at Conoco Philips I have also worked on the
construction department. This involved numerous tasks including the
installation of plant, the testing of circuitry and the commissioning of
plant, including valve actuators, instrumentation controls and chilling
units.
Out of work hours I am a keen and selfless individual, and try and
help everybody else. I volunteer as a local scout leader and give up
the majority of my free time to help others. I also volunteer as an
open water kayaking coach and teach kayaking to groups of
beginners and at intermediate level.
Whilst operating in my voluntary work I also gained the following
qualifications:
Level 2 Diploma in small bore riffle tutoring
Level 1 UK BCC qualification in open water kayaking
Level 2 Qualification in Rock Climbing
First Aid in the workplace
