The curriculum covers oral and maxillofacial surgery (OMFS) including topics like oral surgery procedures, trauma management, anesthesia techniques, and basic sciences. Specific areas of focus include dentoalveolar surgery, cysts and tumors, infections, pre-prosthetic surgery, orthognathic surgery, TMJ disorders, implant surgery, and management of medically complex patients. Students receive lectures, seminars and hands-on training in topics like exodontia, anesthesia administration, OMFS procedures, and emergency management under faculty supervision. The two-year program is approved by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and aims to produce competent oral and maxillofacial surgeons.
