A Change manager of people and resources with cognate experiences in reform agenda with knowledge in
Managing Development acquired from international donor agencies, one of such agencies is UNDP, ESSPIN/DFID,
DLA, USAID, UNICEF etc. I have served as the State Coordinator Federal Teachers Scheme (FTS) helping to achieve
some basic MillenniumDevelopment Goals (MDGs): Education for all & the right to information to our people

6. JOB DESCRIPTION WITH DISCOVERY LEARNING PROJECT
Action Mobilizer implementing community outreach and mobilization activities geared toward engendering
awareness,dialogueand community-driven collectiveactions to address barriersto education and other social
reforms. These includesetting a strong vision and clear roadmap for the community trainingand outreach
component of the project, workingwith the Community Outreach Coordinator to directly engage on behalf of the
team with key community stakeholders in Kano State. The position which has significantlocal travel to the project
sites and communities has also;
1. Establishingrelationshipswith community leaders and stakeholders to introducethe initiativeand to raise
awareness about barriers to education.
2. Undertaking and deliveringcommunity outreach trainingto school administrators,teachers,and community
leaders ateach project site.
3. Monitoringthe progress and results of community outreach trainingand supportingschools and communities as
they develop and implement their action plans to address barriersto education whileurging them to includein
their action plans theuse of media materials such as theDa bazar mu (GIRLS RISING) videos to help them better
sensitizestakeholders in girl child / gender campaigns riseof Girls Associationsin or around school communities to
strengthen chances for the female gender in our society.
4. Encouraging and monitoring the formation of community groups to supportboys and girls in reachingtheir own
education goals as we are now witnessingthe establishmentof Child Protection Practiceand Prevention of
abuse/respect for rights
5. Mentoring and instillingbestPractices on Community engagement and Involvement in Education
6. Ensuring strong performance in linewith agreed plans and budgets, maintainingregular communication
management with supervisors and ensuringtheroutine flow of information up from project sites to meet all
reporting requirements.

7. EXPERIENCES The applicanthas over 20 years of cognate experience in various fields of educational management
and community engagement. He has virtually served in almostall sections of BasicEducation with special focus on
Social Mobilization and Managingresources.Initiated the absorption of 1000 FTS interns into Kano State Civil
Service in 2009 which has earned the State some recognition. His exposure to teaching and learningcondition
prevalent today with other experiences in Managingchanges/community based initiatives likeSHPs in school
communities. My notion of thorough Social and Behavioral ChangeCommunication (SBCC) strategies in the
nearest future is to further strengthen our social/community outreach.This is a clear direction thatwill help add
valueto the good image of our prestigious organization.The Stakeholders we are working need more awareness
creation,mobilization and sensitization through the media at community-level activities and interpersonal to
influenceindividualsas well as groups to clearly reposition their outlook and help us instill prudentmanagement of
our Fitila TLMs ,encourage whole School care,seeking continuity leadingfuture Leadership and Sustainability of
the DLA goals and objectives.More so, I hope to use my background to bringpositiveimpactto this new position
to reach out positively to and make impact.
OTHER EXPERIENCES-With a solid basein human / welfare management, have in the pastcollaborated in the
design & facilitation of several trainingprograms. One of such programwas the Kano State Vision and
Domestication of the State Policy Guidelines on SBMC. Team oriented and result driven with a wide range of
experiences drawingfrom participatory actionsin Personnel Management Boards / Committees which has
sharpened his horizon in managinggroups,enhancing productivity through motivation and managing resources.
