This document analyzes how three British newspapers - The Sun, The Metro, and The Times - have changed culturally over time. It describes the target audiences and histories of each paper. The Sun traditionally focused on politics and the royal family but now emphasizes celebrities. The Times also shifted from difficult-to-read text-heavy formats to include more images and cover different types of news. Both papers now feature people of various backgrounds, in contrast to their originally white-focused content. In general, the document examines how these newspapers have adapted to become more inclusive and globally aware in their cultural portrayals over the decades.

2. Introduction
There have been a lot of different changes in British culture over the different years
and also how different newspapers protray this and also wheteer it is in a positive
way or a negative way. The three newspapers which I will be analysing are The Sun,
The Metro and The Times.

3. The Sun
In 1963 and it is a daily national newspaper which is a tabloid. It is published in the
United Kingdom. It is owned by the News Corporation, Rupert Murdoch. It is the tenth
most popular newspaper in the world and the most popular daily newspaper in the
United Kingdom. The Sun averages a daily circulation of around 2,751,219 copies in
January 2012. Between the months of July and December 2010 it averages a
readership of 7.6 million.
The Sun has been involved in a lot of different controversies and issues throughout
its history, for example they falsely accused Elton John of having sex with rent boys
and also their issues towards mental health people and also homosexuals.
The newspaper also contains a variety of different stories such as hard news
(terrorist attacks, murders, political events) and also they contain soft news
(celebrity gossip, affairs).
The Sun has a mass audience and is mainly aimed at the middle classes

4. The Times
The Times is a British national newspaper which was first published under the name
The Daily Universal Register. The Times is also owned by Rupert Murdoch. The Times
is the first newspaper which has that name and it also inspired others such as The
Times of India (1838) and The New York Times (1851).
The Target Market Audience for The Times is the upper classes. The reason for this is
because it makes them more informed about what is happening in the United Kingdom
and also the world.

7. What was Britain like back then?
Britain was a white establishment society with a very distinctive and long standing
social class system, including a lower class, middle class and an upper class (the
aristocrocy). The majority of the country were monarchists and passionate and loyal
followers of the Royal family.
The story of Charles and Lady Lenora on the front page reflects this interests the
news of the royal family and the papers of the time give their important front pages.

9. What are the newspapers are like now?
The papers now however are more celebrity focues. For instance in the newspaper
on the right it has pictures of celebrities and they don't really focus on the royal
family.
The picture of Paul Gascoigne and Pixie Lott who are celebrities shows this.

10. How has the Sun changed culturally?
The Sun newspaper has changes culturally because now they have different headlines
and also feature people from all over the world.
For example in the old edition of the Sun they have a story about politics which is
happening at that time. Also they don't have any different races and the only people
in the pictures are white.
Also in the new edition of the Sun they have a story about someone getting
kidnapped which made headlines all over the world. Also at the top right tey have a
picture of Zayn Malik form One Direction whos father is from Pakistan.

13. How has The Times changed culturally?
The Times newspaper has changes culturally because now they have images about
the different news and also they have different types of news.
For example in the old edtion of The Times doesn't have any colour and all of the
information was very hard to read.
In the new edition however it is much easier to read and they have images of
different types of people.
