In this lesson, you will learn and
understand:
 The concept of volume
 The Difference between Cube
and Cuboid
 Finding the Volume of Cube
and Cuboid
What is volume?
The volume of a solid, cube or cuboid
refers to the capacity of the
solid or the amount of space
inside the solid.
Volume of CUBE = LENGTH X LENGTH X LENGTH

The solid shown below is made up of
twenty-seven 1-cm cubes. Find the volume
of the solid.
Method 1
Volume of one 1-cm cube = 1 x 1 x 1 cm³
= 1 cm³
Volume of twenty-seven 1 cm cubes = 27 x 1 cm³
= 27 cm³
The volume of the cube is 27 cm³
Method 2
Volume of cube = 3 x 3 x 3 cm³
= 27 cm³
The volume of the cube is 27 cm³
