Web2.0 tools like blogging, wikis, and social networks can encourage collaboration in writing. Blogging allows students to take ownership over their writing and share work, like examples on a class blog. Wikis are websites that allow easy collaborative editing of pages over time. Ning is a social network that combines aspects of blogs and Facebook. The presenters discuss their experiences using blogs, wikis, and Ning in teaching, highlighting pros and cons of each tool and how they could be used in other classrooms.
