(Part 1 of 2) Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) control the look and feel of modern web pages while also separating presentation from content. Learn comprehensive CSS techniques in this step-by-step coding demonstration that starts with an un-styled web page and ends up with a finished design. This presentation will also touch on accessibility, semantic markup, visual design and other site-design related issues.
HTML5/CSS3
Presented By: Jason Gaylord
Track: Technology
Session Format: Single Presenter Session
Description: HTML5 and CSS3 are extremely important with today’s web applications including blog engines. For over a decade, browser manufacturers had supported HTML standards but also emphasized vendor-specific markup. Across the industry there is a huge push towards web standards and feature detection. This includes HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and 3rd party plugins. Most modern web browsers support HTML video playback, photo capture, and semantic markup. In this session, you’ll learn why it’s important to ensure your blog engine supports the latest web standards. You’ll also learn what the semantic web means to search engines and why it will become increasingly popular with the most common blog engines. Finally, we’ll step through a few really cool examples of using the latest markup specs with the latest browsers.

Ein „Mobiler Mehrwert“ muss her!
In this session, we will discuss the top 10 mobile apps architectures and how you can leverage the new cross-platform AWS Mobile Services to build a highly scalable and reliable mobile app, powered by the AWS Cloud.
We will explore core functionality like authentication and authorization of users, data synchronization, backend infrastructure without the need to manage servers, understanding your user behavior, engaging your users and bringing your users back to your app. No matter if you are building the next great social app, or a front-office enterprise mobile app, this session will discuss best practices and reference architectures for building reliable and scalable mobile apps.

Everyone is falling in love with CSS3, and no small wonder. Learn how to use popular CSS3 properties of the future while respecting the browsers of the past.
Social media monitoring - Basics, opportunities and limitationsStefan Evertz
In November 2015 i held a presentation on "Social media monitoring - Basics, opportunities and limitations" during an international workshop focussed on Social media. These are the slides i used including 2 small cases (#refugeecrisis, foreign social conversations).

CSS3 is became inescapable if you want to make beautiful, responsive and performing application. GWT lacked in terms of CSS3 support. The new CssResource will allow you to use the Google Closure stylesheets within your GWT application, allowing any CSS3 features to be also optimized by the GWT compiler. Join me for this talk to learn how to leverage Google closure stylesheets within your GWT applications.

My second talk at Apache Barcamp Spain 2011. It includes a series of starting points about how to get started with CSS3, caveats with CSS3 and some techniques to get up-to-speed with IE.
This presentation (together with our "CSS for non-designers" talk) got the award to the best presentation at Apache Barcamp Spain.
Content Security Policy (CSP) allows web site administrators to control resources the user agent is allowed to load for a given page. It's an added layer of security that helps to detect and mitigate certain types of attacks, including Cross Site Scripting (XSS) and data injection attacks. We learn what they are and how to used them.
