Introduction Of CSS:
 Central Superior Services (CSS) is a superlative
permanent bureaucratic authority. It is responsible
for the performance of bureaucratic operations
and government directories and secretariats of the
cabinet secretariats. CSS defined in itself as a
“key wheels on which entire engine of the state
have to move”.
History Of CSS:
 In the part of the world, civil services are a colonial
legacy. Through Indian civil services (ICS) British
rule the native population.
 In 1947 after the indo-Pak separation Pakistan
used the term central superior services and
because of that all services concept remain
continued.
Reforms:
 In Article 240, under the constitute of Pakistan
1973, the structure of civil superior services is
established. The British Raj established the civil
services pattern in administrative reform in 1973.
Objectives Of Reforms:
 To improve the ability of the civil servant to
become alert in delivering basic public services to
the ordinary resident in an effective, professional
and equitable manner.
 To attract, maintain, inspire and develop high
quality civil servants to improve the functions of all
the three tiers of government.

 Police services of Pakistan
 Railway commercial and transfer group
 District management gr3
 Commerce and trade group
 Foreign services of Pakistan
 Information group
 Inland Revenue services of Pakistan

CSS Exams Eligibility Criteria:
 According to constitute of Islamic Republic of
Pakistan 1973, article 240, Federal Public Service
Commission (FPSC) organize and conduct the
CSS examinations in order to provide jobs
available in public sector occupational group and
services.
 For applying CSS exams an individual is eligible
who is in between the age of 21 to 28 years. The
candidate must be the citizen of Pakistan and
have at last degree of bachelors.
Compulsory Subjects:
 Essay
 Islamiat
 General knowledge (every day science) (current
affairs) (Pakistan affairs)
 English
 Other then these subjects some optional subjects
also need to be passed out for getting 100 and
200 marks

 Recommendation and credit check will be
investigated if you are selected to pass out
previous interview stage. Candidate will be
requisite to complete a psychological test, and
may be asked for an interview with a psychologist.
