Lesson #2:
Our Industrial Economy is warming the planet!
• In the US, we generate
most of our electricity
from burning fossil fuels
• Factories burn fossil
fuels to make our stuff
• We use fossil fuels in
cars, trucks, ships, trains
and planes to move
ourselves around and to
deliver our stuff
What human activity is most
responsible for warming the planet?
Lesson #3:
Remember all of those people from lesson #1?
More and more of them are adopting our lifestyle!
Here’s one example:
How many cars have
been added to China’s
streets since 1990?
In the US, there are 78
cars per 100 people. In
China today, there are
less than 7 but growing!
Lesson #4:
What are the consequences of Climate Change?
Watch this clip, and
see if you can catch
the FIVE
consequences of
climate change that
are mentioned.
Lesson #5:
Here are three scary numbers!
Watch this clip from
the same video,
and see if you can
explain these 3 scary
numbers.
Lesson #6:
Yikes – there’s no easy way out!
• Can you see
why these
numbers are
scary?
• It will take
working
together,
determination,
…it will take a
movement!
The message of the film is that it is
time to totally change our fossil-fuel-
based economy which will take all of us
to force the government and
corporations to act.
