Welfare: The Easy Way Out
Chase Sacket
Spending and Poverty in America
This is the issue in
America. We spend more
to combat poverty, but in
reality poverty does not
change.
Why do we spend more every year?
The million dollar question
• Though you may not have
to pay a million dollars to
find the answer to this
question, just look around
and you will see that
welfare and government
assistance money is being
spent on the wrong things
in life.
What is welfare supposed to be?
• Helping those less fortunate and promoting the general welfare of
America is the main goal of government assistance. If this is so,
then there should be strict laws to insure the security of American
tax-payer’s money and to actually promote self sufficiency in
America.
What welfare actually is
• Instead of promoting self sufficiency, welfare has become a scape
goat for those not wanting to work for a living. Yes there are
plenty of people out there that use welfare as it should. But the
majority of money wasted with welfare fraud could be used to
create jobs and opportunity for those needing work.
The trade off
• Many people that are on
welfare believe they
should not change their
ways because they can
make more money living
off welfare then having a
job.
• More money, less
responsibility and risk.
A fine example of what welfare enables

• And this is what welfare teaches our youth….

A solution to the problem
• Cut programs out of federal welfare and spend money on
opportunity and jobs
