This would redirect routine checkout tasks to self-checkout units, reducing stress on staff and wait times for patrons. I-circ units have barcode readers, touchscreens, and accessibility features. Implementing them would improve efficiency, reduce injuries, and allow staff to focus on more complex issues. A timeline is outlined to install, train staff/volunteers, accept feedback, and monitor the success of the new system.
