Comprehensive Rapid Literacy
Assessment is a reading assessment
designed to help teachers quickly determine
the reading profiles of their G1-G3 learners,
and develop appropriate reading
instructional strategies.
What is Light Refresher?
“Light Refresher – Learner has a firm grasp of
previous grade level reading concepts and skills,
need practice for accuracy.
”
What is Moderate Refresher?
“Moderate Refresher – Learner has a grasp of
previous grade level reading concepts and skills,
but need a lot of practice and guidance.
”
What is Full Refresher?
“Full Refresher – Learner needs to be retaught
previous grade level reading concepts and skills.
”
What is Grade Ready?
“Grade level ready is defined as the average
passage difficulty level (as measured by one of the
many readability formulas) that most learners at a
specific grade level can read with understanding.
Again: grade level ready is what most learners at a
grade level can read.
”
