Compare And Contrast Massachusetts Bay And Jamestown
Jamestown V.S. Massachusetts Bay Jamestown and Massachusetts Bay were the first English
colonies formed in North America in the early 1600 s. While the Jamestown settlers searched for
gold, the Massachusetts Bay colonist came to escape persecution in England and obtain religious
freedoms. Although Jamestown and MassachusettsBay were both English colonies, they both share
many similarities as well as differences socially, economically, and politically. Social similarities
include the dealings with Native Americans. (examples of each) During the time of these colonies
settlement, they both had accounts with Native Americans in the area. In the early times of settling
each colony had friendly relations with the natives. Jamestown formed alliances with the Powhatan
people, while Massachusetts Bay fell into relations with the Pequot tribe. Each settlement relied on
Native Americans to survive in the New World. The Powhatan people taught colonist John Rolfe
how to grow tobacco which was in high demand in Europe at the time. This would later contribute

Jamestown focused on agriculture, more specifically in the production of tobacco or Brown
Gold . However, Massachusetts Bay had poor land and weather, and decided to focused on small
farming, but relied heavily on trading ties with Britain to create a steady economy. Because
farming was a large deal in Jamestown, indentured servants were used to help boost production.
However, after the Bacon s Rebellion in 1676, the upper class/ plantation owners turned to a new
form of servitude, slavery. Slavery greatly increased economy even though slaves were expensive,
they worked for life and could reproduce. It also helped with the trading going between America,
Europe, and Africa. The part of this trading system became known as the middle passage. However,
slavery isn t seen as much throughout Massachusetts because of the lack of large scale

Why Breastfeeding Is Not Successful Essay
Twenty one to one interviews were conducted with women who have had babies within one year.
Half are currently breastfeeding and half are not breastfeeding at all but were at the time of birth.
Ages range from 20 to 34. I will first discuss the women who are not breastfeeding. There were
several motives expressed as reasons why breastfeedingwas not successful, but the overwhelming
underlying reason was lack of proper education. Motives listed in order of most frequent were
pain associated with breastfeeding (3), lack adequate milk supply (3), infection from oversupply
(1), lack of pumping time/space at work (2), wanted baby to sleep longer (1), and family members
not being supportive (2). Concurrently, in literature, lack of adequate milk supply and returning to
work were the two main reasons women stopped breastfeeding (Arlotti, Cottrell, Lee, Curtin, 1998).
The women that reported pain as the reason for not continuing to breastfeed never sought out a
lactationconsultation, and felt like their primary care provider was not well versed in lactation in
general. The women who stopped breastfeeding due to inadequate milk supply all became frustrated
and stopped at a common infantgrowth spurt phase suggesting that education on growth spurts and
how the supply and demand system work may have been beneficial. The women who stopped
breastfeeding due to pumping concerns at work were not educated on the state laws regarding
breastfeeding and that the law mandates a reasonable

The Writings Of Christopher Columbus
The nature in which we live is truly a beautiful thing. When the Europeans first made contact in
North America, they were immediately in love with the views they encountered. They were
interested in wanting to know more about the land, the animals that peeked around, and the
people who called it home. Artists such as, John White had heard the tales of what Christopher
Columbus had described during his time in North America, which led to them wanting to make
their own discoveries. Everyone had their own opinions and views of the world but artists were
able to capture the natural images and feeling they had through their paintings. Landscape
paintings became of interest to artists as a way to depict nature, a man s spiritual place in the
world, and his relation to God. The paintings of nature became a way for artists to express
themselves visually and spiritually, while also expanding what people could see, read, and feel.
Landscape paintings helped to grow communities and expand western movement. There was an
issue between tearing down and using the resources of nature to build communities and to
increase material wealth. Thomas Cole, an American artists who trained in Europe in landscape
painting for a few years felt that America s nature was the most beautiful to be seen. Cole
depicted Native Americans in a few of his paintings. The landscape painting of Niagara Falls was
one of Cole s most notable works of art. People found very little interests in his religious

Salinger s Influence On His Contributions
Salinger had a fairly typical childhood growing up in the 1920s. He was born on January 1,
1919 to Sol Salinger and Marie Jillisch (McGrath). Born in New York City, he spent most of his
childhood there (Telgen 117). When he was growing up, academic excellence was not one of
Salinger s priorities (117). After failing several prep schools, he finally graduated from Valley
Forge Military Academy in Pennsylvania (117). Yet, with an IQ of 115, he never did finish his post
secondary education (Hipple 106; Miller 551). In 1937, Salinger traveled to Austria and Poland to
learn his father s business, but he was dissatisfied with it and returned to America (McGrath).
Although unremarkable, his childhood did impact his literary contributions.... Show more content

D. Salinger also contributed other short compositions. He officially began his writing career
when he took a short story course at Columbia University, where he had an opportunity in
publish in Story magazine (Telgen 117). After that, his literary career became increasingly more
popular, appearing in numerous magazines (117). However, several of Salinger s stories from
the 1940s have never been republished because he refused such republications (117). He
published Nine Stories, Franny and Zooey, Raise High the Roof Beam, Carpenters, and Seymour:
An Introduction, and Hapworth 16, 1924 in 1953, 1961, 1963, and 1965 respectively (McGrath;
Miller 552). Salinger is recognized for his vivid depiction of young Americans during the post
WWII era as they are searching for their future (Mulligan 351). Despite his limited collection,
Salinger is arguably one of the most popular American authors of the 20th century.
Published in 1951, The Catcher in the Rye faced major criticisms for its controversial depiction
of teenage angst. After WWII ended, the US emerged as the most powerful nation in the world,
with 30 million children born in a period of 18 years following the war (Kallen 24 25). By the
1950s and 1960s, many of these children were going through their teenage years (24 25). The
Catcher in the Rye reflected their unexplainable sensations and changes of adolescence (24 25). The

The Total Rewards Program
Organization Overview
This paper will discuss the total rewards program. This company is a beverage and bottling
company that has been in business for over 100 years. Currently we operate in about 3 continents
and in about 20 different countries all over the world. SZT Corp is the home to over 20,000
employees with about 2,000 management level employees worldwide.
Armstrong (2012) affirms that definitions of total rewards characteristically includes not only
traditional, quantifiable elements such as salary, variable pay and benefits but comprises also
more intangible non cash components such as gaining knowledge, ability to acquire and act or
take responsibility, progress in career, and the conducive environment provided by the organization.
SZT Corp requires a pretty complex and flexible total rewards program to meet the needs of their
multi national colleagues. The total rewards programs has to slightly vary for each country that
SZT Corp operates in and must cover compensation, benefits, performance and recognition, learning
and development, and a work life balance. SZT Corp has to maintain a total rewards program that
remains competitive with the competitors in the different nations all over the world.
Total Rewards Strategy
In order to meet the HR needs of this company, HR must accomplish the elements discussed in the
succeeding paragraphs that address the fundamentals of this type of total rewards system while
complying with the regulatory environments.

To An Athlete Dying Young Analysis
Alfred Edward Housman, or as we all know as A.E. Housman, published poems with themes such
as love, death, loss and success. Many poems often contain irony where one uses language that
normally signifies the opposite. As for A.E. Housman s To an Athlete Dying Young, the poem
presents the death of an athlete in a twisted irony of success. As a whole, people view deathas a
horrible ending to one s life, and nothing could be worse than having one s life cut short by the
hands of time. Alfred Edward Housman, on the other hand, turned tears and sadness expected by
an elegy into shouts of joy for the athlete who died young. In the first stanza, the narrator
remembered the time when the success of the athlete is known by all the townspeople, We
chaired you through the market place (2). As many athletes know, the feeling of success is great
and having a whole town recognize that success is even better. One can easily note that the
success of the athlete was celebrated by many and recognized by all because the narrator stated
that Man and boy stood cheering by (3). In the second stanza, the narrator revealed that To day (5)

Housman s poem, To an Athlete Dying Young indicates that death is ironically such a great
event in an athlete s life, due to the fact that it preserves the high esteem that crowds held for
them in the very prime of their life. The admiration of people will stay even after death. When
people gather to gaze the strengthless dead, (26), they will find that the athlete s talent and
success is unwithered (27) for when the athlete s success reached the highest point, the athlete s
death did not allow him to come back down. Many people view death as a tragedy, but the irony
in this poem is that the narrator and the townspeople see death as a blessing to the athlete because
death kept him or her young along with his or her success and

Description Of Social Anxiety Disorder ( Social Phobia )
Introduction
Social Anxiety Disorder (Social Phobia) is characterized by anxiety or fear of social situations in
which there is the possibility of embarrassing one s self under scrutiny by others (Robinson, 2010).
With the extreme symptoms affecting approximately 15 million American adults with a typical
onset age of 13 years old (ADAA, 2017). Those with Social Anxiety Disorder show greater delays
in seeking treatment, if at all, compared to those with other anxiety and mood disorders (Bruce,
Heimberg, Coles, 2012). As Social Anxiety Disorder is the third largest mental health problem in
the world, it is important that this disorder is addressed and not overlooked (Richards, 2017).
This essay will go into detail about Social Anxiety Disorder including the symptoms and factors that
onset the disorder, other anxiety disorders that can be associated with Social Anxiety Disorder, and
effective treatments.

Social Anxiety Disorder is a common and serious condition characterized by excessive and
unrealistic fear of being judged or evaluated negatively and often begins in adolesces (Bandelow
Wedekind, 2014), with 36% of people reporting to have had symptoms for 10 years before
seeking help (ADAA, 2017). Social situations are often avoided or feared, albeit these feelings are
predominately out of proportion to the actual threat posed by the social situation itself (American
Psychiatric Association, 2013, p. 202). These

The Importance Of Technology In Online Education
With the surge in technological innovations in the past decade, technology has become an integral
part of everyday life, including in education. Educators are constantly discovering and seeking out
new ways to implement technology to the benefit of their students. One of the most critical areas in
early childhood educationis the development of reading, and literacy continues to be one of the most
important subjects throughout all of education. This is why building that strong foundation in
literacy is so important, and online reading skill development is one of the newest endeavours into
encouraging this strong start. One of the most tested and implemented online programs is
Headsprout, as mentioned by Dr. Eckerman in lecture. Headsprout is an online program that is
individualized for each studentand tailored for them to work at their own pace. It is implemented
in elementary schools and automatically adjusts to the needs of the students as they progress
through the program. This is extremely beneficial because in most cases, teachers do not have the
time to devote to every child the assistance they need in order to fully grasp the concepts they are
learning. Every child learns at a different pace and in different ways. By having a personal lesson
plan for every student through the headsprout program, they are able to develop better literacy
skills in a shorter amount of time. The European Journal of Psychology of Education describes a
study that investigates how

Analysis Of A Christmas Story By Truman Capote
In the short story A Christmas Story by Truman Capote, the theme of friendship and its
importance to enjoy a valuable life is key to the development of the story. In this tale, a young
boy named Buddy lives with both his family, and his best friend. This best friend happens to be
one of his distant sixty year old woman cousins. These relatives they live with treat both Buddy
and his friend as if they are inferior, but though [the rest of the family has] power over [them] and
frequently [makes them] cry, [they] are not, on the whole, too much aware of them. [They] are each
other s best friend (Capote). Because they have each other, they can ignore the rest of their uncaring
family. This protection they provide for one another, gives them the happy life they want, regardless

disappointed as it is difficult to buy anything in their situation. Instead of buying new
materialistic things that they can t afford, they make kites for one another. They lay out in the
grass with their new kites and ponder life, God, and heaven, I ll wager it never happens. I ll
wager at the very end a body realizes the lord has already shown Himself. That things as they are
[...] just what they ve always seen, was seeing Him. As for me, I could leave the world with today
in my eyes (Capote). Buddy s friend says that she could remember this day until she dies because
she is so happy with her friend Buddy. She knows that she can stay in this moment because she is
completely content. In the last part of the story, Buddy leaves for military school and is sent away

The International Relations And Foreign Policies Decisions...
The importance of Ethic in the study of the international relations and in foreign policies decisions
by governments and others non states.
The structure of individual estates and how they behave has been influenced by the constitution of
the international system. In others words, due to the fact that states behave in an anarchy system,
in which is not a high authority that protects them in case that they found themselves into
international affairs with others states, it makes that states persuade the seeking of power, trough
security competition, to ensure its survival.
Due to the fact, that states are the major actors worldwide, to guarantee that the competition
between them is not aggressively, for example, after Wars, in the settling of peace. Also, in cases
of outlaw societies, that refuse to comply with the law of peoples (Rawuls, 1999, pp.4,90). At this
point, it is when, the solutions of these conflicts must have a universal ethical basis and be directed
by entities as non actors that have the political, economic, and most important, the moral power, to
persuade states to change or modified their political policies. Also, implement regulations and
norms basis in moral ethic to preserve the protection of human rights. (Bell, 2010) without other
interest, then peace, and global order, for the wellbeing of the worldwide population.

Bank Of Americ An Ethical Dilemma
An ethical dilemma plays an important role in business. Ethical dilemma moral situation where a
choice have to be made between two equally unwanted alternatives. While a business dilemma
according to Fernando (2009) is when the decision maker of organization meets a choice between
two or more variants that will have a different influence on income, competitiveness and
shareholders of organization. As the chairman and CEO of Bank of America, Lewis takes a
responsibility to instruct the shareholders about the adverse conditions with Merrill Lynchmerger.
The same applies goes to Thain who deluded shareholders about financial problems in Merrill
Lynch and the bonuses paid. Another point is that Thain and Lewis pay out bonuses before
acquisition of the deal. On the other point of view, Lewis had responsibility to the overall well
being of the U.S and global financial system. Another major crisis will affect Bank of America

people. The best choice was to choose one that will minimize the damages. Obviously, Lewis and

Visual And Verbal Components Of An Organization Essay
Introduction
Culture is something like behavioral rules which are unwritten and unspoken that is produced
when group of people comes at a place to work together. Culture is created by the attitude, the
values, beliefs and important assumptions as well as performance and activities shared by a group
of people.
Organizational culture is made up of every sort of experiences that all employee brings to the work
place. Organization culture is particularly introduced by the organization s founder, executives, and
other managerial staff because of their role in decision making and strategic direction.
The visual and verbal components of an organization s culture are evident every day at work.
Whether you are walking through a work area, sitting in an office, attending a meeting, or eating in
the lunchroom, the organization s culture surrounds you and permeates your working life. Culture
is represented in groups by: language, decision making, symbols, stories and legends and daily work
practices. Your bulletin board content, the company newsletter, the interaction of employees in
meetings, and the way in which people collaborate, speak volumes about your organizational
culture.
Culture is how organizations do things . Robbie Katanga. Culture is consistent, observable patterns
of behavior in organizations. Aristotle said, We are what we repeatedly do. This view elevates
repeated behavior or habits as the core of culture and deemphasizes what people feel, think or
believe.

Symbolism In The Masque Of The Red Death
Edgar Allan Poe s Masque of the Red Death , is a short story that takes place in the heart of a
terrible time where a deadly pestilence takes the lives of those who face it. The main symptom
of the Red Death is blood. The other symptoms include sharp pains, and sudden dizziness, and
then profuse bleeding at the pores, with dissolution (Poe 4). What makes this plague so deadly
is that the duration of the disease is no longer than half an hour, leaving the victim s face and
body covered with blood. Prince Prospero has grown scared, so he recruits some of his closest
friends and goes to a secluded castle in order to rebel against the plague (Poe 4). Months have

their mouths into their inevitable death. The concept of the Red Death seems to come from the
influences Poe has had with Tuberculosis and the epidemics of the Black Death. These three
deadly diseases share similarities in symptoms and on how much lives they have taken. This story
is a great reminder that death is nondiscriminatory and inevitable. This story not only reflects the

After some research, I found out that cardinal sine could not be solved by elementary means and
that its integral was, in fact, a crucial part of the Gibbs phenomenon, which will be expanded upon
in the Applications section (Pg. 8) of this investigation. My aim for this investigation is to prove the
integral of cardinal sine to be sine integral and to approximate five (5) values of the sine integral
function. Afterwards, I will show how this is relevant in both mathematics and other, more
practical, applications. Exploration In order to organize the mathematical exploration most
effectively, the exploration will begin with the following problem: Prove that ∫в
–’sinвЃЎx/x is
equal to Si (x). Approximate Si (0), Si (ПЂ/6), Si (ПЂ/4), Si (ПЂ/3), and Si (ПЂ/2) using a Taylor
polynomial of order 3 at 0 for f(x) = Si (x). In order to verify the results of the approximations,
Wolfram Alpha, an online calculator capable of processing the sine integral function, will be used.
To begin with, the Taylor series representation of the sine integral function is as such:
Si (x)=∑_(n=0 )^в€
ћв–’(( 1)^n x^(2n+1))/(2n+1)(2n+1)! At this point, it is necessary to find the
Taylor series representation of sinвЃЎx/x. First, the Taylor series representation of sin (x) is:
∑_(n=0)^в€
ћв–’(гЂ–( 1)гЂ—^n x^(2n+1))/(2n+1)!
Therefore, sinвЃЎx/x is equal to:
1/x ∑_(n=0)^в€
ћв–’(гЂ–( 1)гЂ—^n x^(2n+1))/(2n+1)!
Which is equal to:
∑_(n=0)^в€
ћв–’(гЂ–( 1)гЂ—^n x^(2n+1))/x(2n+1)!

In 1966 the EEOC issued regulations that provided that employers must afford accommodation
unless it would cause a serious inconvenience to the conduct of business. In 1967, this regulation
was further refined to read undue hardship on the conduct of the employer s business. These
regulations were quickly challenged as was the EEOC authority to issue such regulations. (Foltin
Standish, 2004, p. 3). Finally, in 1972 Congress amended Title VII adding a new section 701(j),
which reads as follows:
The term religion includes all aspects of religious observance and practice, as well as belief, unless
an employer demonstrates that he is unable to reasonably accommodate to an employee s or

This still left the defining of the terminology reasonably accommodate and undue hardship to the

Risk Assessment and Risk Management
Risk assessment and risk management
Introduction
There are many hazards associated in an industrial workplace. With new technologies, new
machinery and constant updates with regulations it is more important now than ever before to
produce efficient risk assessments. Good risk assessments reduce hazards and fatalities in
dangerous areas in the workplace. A good riskassessment will make workers feel safer and
therefore happier and promotes a good business structure within the company. A good risk
assessment will help prevent legal action against the company therefore saving the company money.
Identifying Hazards
When looking at a general workshop there are several hazards that could potentially cause an
accident. In this section, I will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Accidents with tools
The engineers have to use tools to carry out maintenance work, tools include small pocket
knives, screwdrivers, drills, ratchet sets etc. There is the need of tools to do maintenance so the
likelihood of incidents and accidents is very likely (Frequency: 4), severity is not as bad as there
are a lack of dangerous saws and other dangerous tools etc. Cuts from electrical/ metallic
equipment are also likely as well but shouldn t be too severe (Severity: 3).
Trip/Slip Hazards
Trip hazards come from misplaced boxes, pallets and other items that have been misplaced. Slip
hazards can come from a leaky roof or spilled drink, these incidences can often occur (Frequency:

Oxidising Hazards
There are no real chemicals within the workplace that can cause oxidising problems or need
constant ventilation, therefore any oxidising accidents should be extremely rare (frequency: 1) but
if they was a miraculous incident, it could cause an explosion (Severity: 5).
Environment Hazards
There is waste in the workshop that can be harmful to the environment, such as disposing old
batteries that have Ni Cad Acid which can harm the environment /animals. Waste and rubbish is of

and take the load off of him, so they acquired two post players, Kevin McHale and Robert

Athletic Training What are athletic trainers (ATs)? What type of work do athletic trainers do?
Those are two common question that a lot of people ask to themselves. Most people believe that
athletic trainers are just people who help trained the team in which they have to basically tell them

South Africa and the AIDS Crisis
The AIDS crisis has been a very controversial issue in the history of South Africa beginning in
1982. During this time South Africa has made a government transition from apartheid to a
democracy. Since many national issues needed to be address, the AIDS crisis was pushed aside,
leaving a pandemic in the process. Many factors have contributed to the issues including: poverty,
social instability, high levels of sexually transmitted infections, the low status of women, sexual
violence, migrant labor, limited access to quality medical care, and a history of poor leadership in
the response to the pandemic. After three decades of controversy in South Africadealing with issues
involving the government, medicine, and conflict the country is still feeling the after effect today
regarding the largest AIDSpandemic.
In 1982 the first case of AIDS in South Africa was diagnosed in a homosexual white man who
was believed to contract the disease while in California. Later that year two hundred and fifty
random blood samples were taken from homosexual men living in Johannesburg, the virus
infected 12.8% of the men. When AIDs was first diagnosed, many Africans believed it was only a
disease for homosexuals and drug addicts, this did not prove to be the case. The first death of a
South African with AIDS occurred in 1985, while the apartheid government was under the control
of President P.W. Botha. Botha held a press conference to address the threat of this disease for the
country. As

The Adelphia Communications scandal broke in 2002 when a footnote in a routine quarterly
earnings statement revealed that the Rigas family had borrowed more than $2 billion from the
company. But they didn t pay it back.
Warning bells started ringing because of the huge amount of cash involved and because of a

Despite its audacity, the Adelphia Communications scandal was never rated as a major scandal in
U.S. terms, despite the vast amount of wealth involved. The Adelphia Communications scandal
broke after the one at Enron, and it was also not as impressive as the WorldCom and Tyco financial
scandals.
It did not have glamorous high flying players, merely an old Greek guy and his son. The only time
the Adelphia Communications scandal really captured public attention was when the image of John
Rigas being paraded in handcuffs when he was arrested became a symbol of the corporate frauds
that cost investors billions in savings.
President George W. Busheven made political capital out of the image, issuing a statement calling
the arrest a sign that the government would investigate, arrest and prosecute corporate executives
who break the law.

What sort of guy is this John Rigas? The public never really got to meet the soft spoken, modest
little pop eyed 82 year old crook, but if they had watched the Charlie Rose Show which was

really important: you cannot judge from appearances.

Exploring the Dark Side: Contrasting Themes in Blue Velvet
The subconscious psyche is one of the most fascinating and almost completely inexplicable aspects
of human behavior. Even more intriguing than merely the subconscious is the notion of a darker,
more repressed side that many individuals refuse to acknowledge exists within them. In David
Lynch s film Blue Velvet, the director attempts to explore the psyche of a young man named
Jeffrey Beaumont, most notably the clash between his darker side and good side for the first time
in his life. Using themes that sharply contrast one another, Lynch provides insight into the character
of Jeffrey and the struggle that he is faced with. Jeffrey is in a transitional period of his life, ... Show

Lynch chooses to use such stark contrast in an effort to establish not only the differences in one
s perception, but of the psyche as well. The opening sequence is used by Lynch as a metaphor
for Jeffrey s state of mind throughout the entire film, as Jeffrey realizes he has a dark side yet is
trying (most of the time) to suppress it. The town of Lumberton, like Jeffrey, is an idealized
version of what America and Americans should be like and yet, much like Jeffrey s mind, it is
full of dark secrets and contradictions. One aspect of Jeffrey s psyche being explored is the
notion of his battle between innocent love for a young girl and the animalistic lust he possesses
for an older, more mature woman. The good or innocent side of Jeffrey is personified in the
character of Sandy. Sandy is often depicted wearing light colors, with blue eyes and perfectly
brushed blonde hair. When Sandy is first introduced into the film, she enters through utter darkness,
stepping out of the shadows and into the light in a medium shot. Lynch follows this up with a long
reverse tracking two shot in which Jeffrey and Sandy make small talk and innocently flirt with one
another. Dorothy s introduction into the film, however, is quite different. The film first truly
introduces the audience and Jeffrey to Dorothy with a subjective shot from her closet. After
breaking into Dorothy s apartment and

Difference Between Chines For M-Form Organization
M form refers to the unspecialization of subnational governments. It follows a territorial principle
that regions are assigned to be responsible for similar task. For instance, province A is responsible
for agricultural and steel ministry, which is same for the other provinces such as B and C. They can
be seen as substitute for each other because they produce competitive goods. The administrative
coordination is decentralized in M form, meaning that planning in individual level is important. As
these regions need to make production decisions for their ministries, the autonomy of them is quite
high, and they have the right to control and allocate recourses within their jurisdiction. These
features can in fact be linked to the RDA system. In Maskin, Qian and Xu s research,... Show more

So, any lagging behind only implies the low productivity of the regional official. With similar
information structure, regional officials have the incentive to outperform the other rivalries.
Regional competition can already serve as incentive scheme for local officials.
For U form organizations, as regions are different from each other, they react differently towards
industrial shocks. So, this provides an excuse for laggard that it is due to the differentiation regional
conditions. With completely different information structures, there is no incentive for local officials
to work hard under the U form.
Seeing how M form and U form organizations can affect information structures, as a result
determining incentives of local officials, the Maskin, Qian and Xu model can be used to prove it.
Firstly, the model states that there are 2 types of incentives the absolute performance incentive and
the relative performance incentive. The absolute performance incentive links the officials salary

Essay on Guns Make for a Safer Country
Guns are needed. The main purpose is for protection. People think that by banning guns
Americans will be safer. This is not true though. Criminals get their guns through illegal ways so
it would be hard to confiscate all the guns. With guns taken away most Americans would
probably turn on their government. Some people want to ban guns because they are used in
crimes. But the guns are not committing the crime people are. Guns have always been and
always will be a form of protection. A gun is the easiest way to keep the peace. Nothing scares
someone more than knowing they could die. There are few people that are not scared of guns.

The castle law allows people to protect themselves on their own property. If a person breaks into
a house then the owner has the right to shoot and kill that trespasser on the spot. Only some
states allow the castle law though. One negative view toward guns is that they kill people.
People kill people. The person behind the gun is the killer. Using this as an argument against
gun is the worst way someone can approach it. When someone is killed by a drunk driver do
people think that the car is responsible for killing? No, they obviously blame the drunk driver
and say nothing about the vehicle used in the incident. It should be the same way with guns.
People should not turn on the guns that they use for protection because there are people that
misuse guns. The problem is the way guns are viewed. Keith Olberman states, Guns are evil and
the NRA is evil. The article says, 30,000 Americans are killed by guns each year (Stossel).
Anyone can see in the statement it says killed by guns. It should say the guns are used. When it

Analysis of Case Study by Elizabeth Layman on Job Redesign

JOB ENRICHMENT 2
Introduction
Job design is a tool meant to work as motivator for employees. It is meant to increase job
satisfaction and commitment. By the same token, it is meant to decrease turnover and absenteeism
(Carpenter, M., Taylor, B., Erdogan, B., 2009). Elizabeth Layman offers a broader perspective on
how job redesign changed the working environment in the Health Information Services
Departments (HIS). Health Information leaders are in charge studying the signs that will help with
theory and context to find the best solutions that will deliver results in job redesigning.

It is relevant because it improves the current hard, soft and context variables that are affecting
them. This goal is not time bound since the case study does not offer a specific date for its
completion.
Principles of job enrichment applied in this case
Job enrichment is a variation of job enlargement. Job enlargement aims to increase the
responsibilities of the subject to avoid boredom and monotony. Job enrichment also increases the
responsibilities of the subject, but in a different manner. In this case, the employee is given more
tasks,
JOB ENRICHMENT 3 but the employee has the liberty to correct unnecessary steps, and
consequently make his job more efficient and effective. This tool helps as a motivator that leads to
higher employee satisfaction since the subject feels more in control of his job. Nevertheless, job
enrichment can also backfire because employees will not see the correlation between earning more
duties, and not earning more money (Carpenter, M., Taylor, B., Erdogan, B., 2009).
In Layman s case study, the job enrichment principles are present first in recognizing that changes
need to be done at the sector, organizational, and employee levels. At the sector level, management
needs to be more proactive in deciphering those sector wide events that at the end affect individual
workloads, but also standards, regulations and

Legendary Beard Fact: In 1984 Gillette offered Billy Gibbons and ZZ Top bandmate Dusty Hill

Billy Gibbons is perhaps as famous for his chest length beard as he is for his music. As the founding

Relationship Between Stakeholders And Stakeholders
In the modern era of marketing, brand management has proved its importance by being a widely
discussed topic. While brand value was primarily connected with customers only, its importance
into non customer areas has been acknowledged. Brand equity and brand value are argued on their
relation with relevant stakeholders. In this assignment I am reflecting on the importance of
managing these stakeholder relationships.
Stakeholder management has been recognised as a central part of an organisation s effectiveness.
Stakeholders play important roles as advocates, sponsors, partners and agents of change. Much has
been written about stakeholder relationships in the private sector and many companies now have
dedicated relationship managers and strategies in place to improve and develop external
relationships. However, stakeholder management in the brand management still lags some way
behind (Ipsos 2009).
Building a successful brand is effective if brand value is generated. Through the relationship
performance between the relevant stakeholders and the brand, brand value can be created. Jones
(2005) suggests, that one should acknowledge two key points while accessing the stakeholders:
1.Network of relationships / dependency upon multiple stakeholders,
2.Value assessment on the basis of each individual... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

consumers to listen and follow companies. This is clearly demonstrated by well known companies
that create strong reputations based on clear values and cultures: innocent drinks, Coca Cola and

Criminal Law In Canada
The Canadian criminal law involves the prosecution by the government of a person for an act that
has been categorized as a crime. In order to convict, an individual or party they must have
demonstrated or committed a guilty act, whilst having a guilty state of mind or intentions. In other
words, the individual must represent actus reus, an evil act, and must simultaneously possess mens

the satisfaction of the judge beyond reasonable doubt, if there is a lack of one of these elements the

Dream by the links it made noticeable among family, crime, and national and local politics
(Friedman, 422).
The American Dream is an illusion and the gangster genre showed those illusions in an
entertainment point of view. The gangster protagonists all were searching for a better life. Their
perceptions of the American Dream were someone being on top with money and power. Most of
the protagonists were immigrants who wanted to be a part of society that held barriers against
them. The gangster genre films allow the audience to see that Americans tend to lose their grip on
reality as they pursue their desires for success. Every gangster film s protagonist has their own
perspective about the American

The Life of Isaac Newton
Throughout the span of Isaac Newton s life time, he accomplished, dreamed, and achieved what
others thought were impossible. He was a curious man, with a passion to learn and discover the
undiscovered. Newton uncovered scientific answers that lead the way to influential discoveries in
motion and mathematics, optics, and also physics. He was not only an educated physicist and
mathematician, but experienced and established in his frame of study. To say Newton was just a
scientist would be an understatement, he was one of the great minds of the 17th century Scientific
Revolution (Source 3). Isaac Newtonwas born in Woolsthorpe, Lincolnshire, England on January
4, 1643. He was born as a premature baby and no one expected him to live. Newton s father
passed away three months before he was born. When Sir Newton was only three years old, his
mother, Hannah Newton, abandon her son and ran off to marry her second husband. Newton was
left to be raised by his maternal grandmother. One thoughtless action of his mother, manifested into
a sense of abandonment, irrational behavior, and also and insecurity issues for this young boy.
When Newton was twelve years old, his mother returned with three step children, after her second
husband died. She pulled Newton out of school, for she wanted him to practice farming, thinking
he could make a fine career out of it. Poor Newton hated farming and found it as such a tedious
task. His mother soon enrolled him back into school to

Conflict In Cormac Mccarthy s The Road
What a conflict! Every author creates some type of conflict to have the reader sitting on the
edge of their seats whether the conflict be man versus man, man versus self, or man versus
nature. The novel The Road by Cormac McCarthy wrote a story about both a man and a boy who
have particularly conflicting characteristics when it comes to decision making. The boy in the
story is very optimistic about everything and the man can be pessimistic when either deciding on
what to do or when thinking about life or the future. In addition, both characters have different
outlooks and personalities that can sometimes collide. Both characters act completely different
when confronted by another character in the story. The man is more concerned about the safety
of the boy and himself. However, the boy wants to do anything and everything to help anyone
that they come across. For example, during one situation in the story, a thief attempted to steal all
their belongings. When the man caught him, the boy started crying, Papa?...Papa please don t
kill the man (McCarthy 256). In contrast, after the man caught the thief the man held him at gun
point and said, If you dont put down the knife and get away from the cart...I m going to blow
your brains out (McCarthy 256).The man is more concerned with their safety, whereas the boy is
concerned about the wellbeing and safety of the thief. The man acts in a similar manner to Ely
when the boy wants to give him food, In the morning they stood in the road and he and the boy
argued about what to give the old man (McCarthy 173). These two characters can collide
sometimes when deciding on whether or not they should give food to people like Ely or The
Lightning Man . Not only are they different when confronted by another character, they are also
different on the way they look at arising situations. People perceive situations either two ways:
optimistically or pessimistically. In the book, the author showed both ways of how a person would
react either optimistically or pessimistically in a post apocalyptic world. He showed this with two
characters, the man and the boy, the man reacting both pessimistically and optimistically in
situations, and the boy being the optimistic character.

A Brief Note On Cad And Cam Packages
Task 1
The manufacturing process over the last decade has been transformed, by the several modern
CAD and CAM packages offered to companies. Modernising their technologies that are used in
their facilities/site. Due to this traditional methods by the use of manual machines and drawing
methods are being replaced by the more efficient CNC machines programmed by CAM packages.
Therefore, the dated drawing methods of pen and paper on a drawing board are by revolutionised
by the new computer aided design software, which creates drawing to a more detail aspect for the
customers. This is pushed forward technology in this industry forward and to the modern age,
company and their customers are more satisfied with the information and design views in place
when designed their products.
CAD/CAM is a computer based manufacturing and design software, used massively in engineering
and also in other fields of manufacture. CAD/CAM can produce drawings in higher quality detail
as well as producing machine programmes for CNC machines.(Inc, 2016)
CAD meaning computer aided design, produces high quality 2d and 3d drawings and designs
produce by manufacturing companies. CAD offers companies the ability to draw their products
(normally drawn in 2d on a drawing board in traditional methods) in a fully constructed 3d
design, which the company is able to see their products in 3d and know how they will look like,
when created in or made. However they will benefit from CAD by being able to see problems

Florida Recruiting Case Study
Florida Recruiting: Making Florida fun again
In a few weeks, the Athletic Director for the University of Florida, Scott Stricklin, will announce
the new head football coach for the Gators. One huge focal area for Stricklin is finding a coach that
will implement an offensive scheme that matches the Gators need.
The certain type of offense that many are calling for in Gainesville is the spread option philosophy,
while also running run/pass option attacks (once seen under Urban Meyer). Currently, the Gators
2018 recruiting class has pieces that fit the mold to these sorts of schemes.
Potential Head Coaches
An up and rising coach that checks off that criteria is University of Central Florida s Head Coach,
Scott Frost. His immediate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Recruits That Must Stay in Class
Whoever the next head coach is for the Gators, they will inherit a plethora of talent on the
offensive of the ball. As it stands, they will also likely walk into one of the best recruiting classes
of the 2018 cycle, highlighted by 4 star quarterback Matt Corral. Corral has reiterated multiple times
that he is committed to the Florida Gators and will be early enrolling despite the coaching changes.
From a recruiting standpoint, Corral is a west coast type of prospect that can arrive in Gainesville
and compete day one at the quarterback positions. The different skillset he will provide for this
position group is something the unit has been missing for quite some time. The ability to extend
plays, throw on the run, and move the chains with his legs separates Corral from many
quarterbacks in this class. He has a legitimate opportunity to start game one next season, with the
inadequate play Florida has seen from multiple quarterbacks this season. For a spread offensive
scheme, Corral is the perfect fit.
But, along with Corral, the next coach will need to get wide receiver prospects Jacob Copeland
and Jamarr Chase to stay firm with their commitments to the Gators #AllBite18 class. Both players
possess unbelievable athletic ability that can piece together this broken offense. Their abilities to
reel in tough catches, fool defenders in their route tree, and their deep ball threat are all pieces this

Stereotypes In The Movie World War Z
What differs the movie World War Z from other zombie movies is the acting; it isn t typical zombie
acting. Frequently through the movie, the creatures aren t COMPLETELY insane. Little, nearly
unnoticeable movements the actors and actresses made created a more realistic type of crazy
cannibal effect, making the individual have more of a horrifying zombieovertake experience, while
the real them is silently trapped inside.
Each actors role they played in the movie was hit at its fullest potential. The main character, Brad
Pitt, had realistic facial expressions, along with a strong personality that intensified the movie. He
particularly had more close up shots than any other characters in the movie, and was on camera the
most, being the main character. His acting made the audience portray him as a very independent
individual, although he has family. The character is also extremely mentally stable, despite what
terrors and near death experiences hes been exposed to. escapes from deaths clutch. In addition to
holding himself together despite the nearly end of the world, this particular character holds himself
together well for his family. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Land Of The Jordan River
After the nation of Israel had fled Pharaoh s domination in Egypt and just before crossing the
Jordan River into the Promised Land, Moses sent twelve spies, one from each tribe, to assess
the new land. After 40 days, they returned telling stories of a great land flowing with milk and
honey that was inhabited by a powerful people living in large well fortified cities. Caleb, one of
the twelve, a courageous and loyal colleague of Joshua, silenced the crowd. Standing before Moses,
Caleb declared boldly, We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it.
The other ten spies filled with fear scoffed at both Joshua and Calab, We can t attack these people.
They are stronger than we are.
The ten then spread lies among the people about the new Promised Land that Joshua and Caleb had
just explored.
Only Joshua sided with Caleb. Both of them tore their clothes in anger before the assembled
crowd saying, The land we passed through and explored is exceedingly good. If the Lord is pleased
with us he will lead us into that land and give it to us. Only do not rebel against the Lord. And do
not be afraid of the people of the land. But the Israelites had already forgotten God s promise and
angrily threw stones at them. Consequently, that rebellious and sinful generation of Israelites found
only death in the desert.
Joshua and Caleb possessed a pure Spirit. They had courageously risked their lives in order to
speak the Truth. They alone remembered how God

Secret Window For Mise En Scene Analysis
Analysing a five minute clip of Secret Window for Mise en Scene and Performance
The first thirty seconds of this clip are of the main character, Mort Rainey in his car. The first
thing we see is the book in his hands, the depth of focus changes as he runs his finger across the
stubs of pages. The focus changes as the character makes a discovery, this could be to emphasise
to the audience how important this discovery might come to be. Then we are shown the character
himself, the only thing slightly obscuring our view of him is the steering wheel, this adds to the
creation of the setting. The symbolic idea behind having the character in his car at this particular
moment, could be to show that he is still discovering things, he hasn t got all of the answers yet,
but he s well on his way.
The actor, Johnny Depp, shows the expression of surprise on the character s ... Show more content

The smart hat is at odds with his unkept appearance and he looks even stranger and more insane
with the hat on. The character quickly stands up and we see his reflection in the mirror. His face
is again almost completely black and you cannot make out his face, he could be anyone stood there.
The fact that his face is obscured is significant, because the character is in the middles of doubting
his own identity.
As Mort Rainey steps towards the mirror, the camera zooms in and shows his face in much more
clarity, this may be an indication of the character s own clarity as to who he is, although it is
more likely, since we are only seeing his reflection, that it is symbolic of the character seeing
himself more clearly, not total clarity. Again, we hear the character talking to his own thoughts,
this along with the way he s playing with the rim of the hat and the way his face seems to indicate
he feels comfortable in the hat, makes the character seem darker and even more

  • 2. Compare And Contrast Massachusetts Bay And Jamestown Jamestown V.S. Massachusetts Bay Jamestown and Massachusetts Bay were the first English colonies formed in North America in the early 1600 s. While the Jamestown settlers searched for gold, the Massachusetts Bay colonist came to escape persecution in England and obtain religious freedoms. Although Jamestown and MassachusettsBay were both English colonies, they both share many similarities as well as differences socially, economically, and politically. Social similarities include the dealings with Native Americans. (examples of each) During the time of these colonies settlement, they both had accounts with Native Americans in the area. In the early times of settling each colony had friendly relations with the natives. Jamestown formed alliances with the Powhatan people, while Massachusetts Bay fell into relations with the Pequot tribe. Each settlement relied on Native Americans to survive in the New World. The Powhatan people taught colonist John Rolfe how to grow tobacco which was in high demand in Europe at the time. This would later contribute to the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Jamestown focused on agriculture, more specifically in the production of tobacco or Brown Gold . However, Massachusetts Bay had poor land and weather, and decided to focused on small farming, but relied heavily on trading ties with Britain to create a steady economy. Because farming was a large deal in Jamestown, indentured servants were used to help boost production. However, after the Bacon s Rebellion in 1676, the upper class/ plantation owners turned to a new form of servitude, slavery. Slavery greatly increased economy even though slaves were expensive, they worked for life and could reproduce. It also helped with the trading going between America, Europe, and Africa. The part of this trading system became known as the middle passage. However, slavery isn t seen as much throughout Massachusetts because of the lack of large scale ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Why Breastfeeding Is Not Successful Essay Twenty one to one interviews were conducted with women who have had babies within one year. Half are currently breastfeeding and half are not breastfeeding at all but were at the time of birth. Ages range from 20 to 34. I will first discuss the women who are not breastfeeding. There were several motives expressed as reasons why breastfeedingwas not successful, but the overwhelming underlying reason was lack of proper education. Motives listed in order of most frequent were pain associated with breastfeeding (3), lack adequate milk supply (3), infection from oversupply (1), lack of pumping time/space at work (2), wanted baby to sleep longer (1), and family members not being supportive (2). Concurrently, in literature, lack of adequate milk supply and returning to work were the two main reasons women stopped breastfeeding (Arlotti, Cottrell, Lee, Curtin, 1998). The women that reported pain as the reason for not continuing to breastfeed never sought out a lactationconsultation, and felt like their primary care provider was not well versed in lactation in general. The women who stopped breastfeeding due to inadequate milk supply all became frustrated and stopped at a common infantgrowth spurt phase suggesting that education on growth spurts and how the supply and demand system work may have been beneficial. The women who stopped breastfeeding due to pumping concerns at work were not educated on the state laws regarding breastfeeding and that the law mandates a reasonable ... • 4. The Writings Of Christopher Columbus The nature in which we live is truly a beautiful thing. When the Europeans first made contact in North America, they were immediately in love with the views they encountered. They were interested in wanting to know more about the land, the animals that peeked around, and the people who called it home. Artists such as, John White had heard the tales of what Christopher Columbus had described during his time in North America, which led to them wanting to make their own discoveries. Everyone had their own opinions and views of the world but artists were able to capture the natural images and feeling they had through their paintings. Landscape paintings became of interest to artists as a way to depict nature, a man s spiritual place in the world, and his relation to God. The paintings of nature became a way for artists to express themselves visually and spiritually, while also expanding what people could see, read, and feel. Landscape paintings helped to grow communities and expand western movement. There was an issue between tearing down and using the resources of nature to build communities and to increase material wealth. Thomas Cole, an American artists who trained in Europe in landscape painting for a few years felt that America s nature was the most beautiful to be seen. Cole depicted Native Americans in a few of his paintings. The landscape painting of Niagara Falls was one of Cole s most notable works of art. People found very little interests in his religious ... • 5. Salinger s Influence On His Contributions Salinger had a fairly typical childhood growing up in the 1920s. He was born on January 1, 1919 to Sol Salinger and Marie Jillisch (McGrath). Born in New York City, he spent most of his childhood there (Telgen 117). When he was growing up, academic excellence was not one of Salinger s priorities (117). After failing several prep schools, he finally graduated from Valley Forge Military Academy in Pennsylvania (117). Yet, with an IQ of 115, he never did finish his post secondary education (Hipple 106; Miller 551). In 1937, Salinger traveled to Austria and Poland to learn his father s business, but he was dissatisfied with it and returned to America (McGrath). Although unremarkable, his childhood did impact his literary contributions.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... D. Salinger also contributed other short compositions. He officially began his writing career when he took a short story course at Columbia University, where he had an opportunity in publish in Story magazine (Telgen 117). After that, his literary career became increasingly more popular, appearing in numerous magazines (117). However, several of Salinger s stories from the 1940s have never been republished because he refused such republications (117). He published Nine Stories, Franny and Zooey, Raise High the Roof Beam, Carpenters, and Seymour: An Introduction, and Hapworth 16, 1924 in 1953, 1961, 1963, and 1965 respectively (McGrath; Miller 552). Salinger is recognized for his vivid depiction of young Americans during the post WWII era as they are searching for their future (Mulligan 351). Despite his limited collection, Salinger is arguably one of the most popular American authors of the 20th century. Published in 1951, The Catcher in the Rye faced major criticisms for its controversial depiction of teenage angst. After WWII ended, the US emerged as the most powerful nation in the world, with 30 million children born in a period of 18 years following the war (Kallen 24 25). By the 1950s and 1960s, many of these children were going through their teenage years (24 25). The Catcher in the Rye reflected their unexplainable sensations and changes of adolescence (24 25). Currently we operate in about 3 continents and in about 20 different countries all over the world. SZT Corp is the home to over 20,000 employees with about 2,000 management level employees worldwide. SZT Corp requires a pretty complex and flexible total rewards program to meet the needs of their multi national colleagues. The total rewards programs has to slightly vary for each country that SZT Corp operates in and must cover compensation, benefits, performance and recognition, learning and development, and a work life balance. SZT Corp has to maintain a total rewards program that remains competitive with the competitors in the different nations all over the world. • 7. To An Athlete Dying Young Analysis Alfred Edward Housman, or as we all know as A.E. Housman, published poems with themes such as love, death, loss and success. Many poems often contain irony where one uses language that normally signifies the opposite. As for A.E. Housman s To an Athlete Dying Young, the poem presents the death of an athlete in a twisted irony of success. As a whole, people view deathas a horrible ending to one s life, and nothing could be worse than having one s life cut short by the hands of time. Alfred Edward Housman, on the other hand, turned tears and sadness expected by an elegy into shouts of joy for the athlete who died young. In the first stanza, the narrator remembered the time when the success of the athlete is known by all the townspeople, We chaired you through the market place (2). As many athletes know, the feeling of success is great and having a whole town recognize that success is even better. One can easily note that the success of the athlete was celebrated by many and recognized by all because the narrator stated that Man and boy stood cheering by (3). In the second stanza, the narrator revealed that To day (5) many have gathered all runners come (5), not for a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Housman s poem, To an Athlete Dying Young indicates that death is ironically such a great event in an athlete s life, due to the fact that it preserves the high esteem that crowds held for them in the very prime of their life. The admiration of people will stay even after death. When people gather to gaze the strengthless dead, (26), they will find that the athlete s talent and success is unwithered (27) for when the athlete s success reached the highest point, the athlete s death did not allow him to come back down. Many people view death as a tragedy, but the irony in this poem is that the narrator and the townspeople see death as a blessing to the athlete because death kept him or her young along with his or her success and ... • 9. The Importance Of Technology In Online Education With the surge in technological innovations in the past decade, technology has become an integral part of everyday life, including in education. Educators are constantly discovering and seeking out new ways to implement technology to the benefit of their students. One of the most critical areas in early childhood educationis the development of reading, and literacy continues to be one of the most important subjects throughout all of education. This is why building that strong foundation in literacy is so important, and online reading skill development is one of the newest endeavours into encouraging this strong start. One of the most tested and implemented online programs is Headsprout, as mentioned by Dr. Eckerman in lecture. Headsprout is an online program that is individualized for each studentand tailored for them to work at their own pace. It is implemented in elementary schools and automatically adjusts to the needs of the students as they progress through the program. This is extremely beneficial because in most cases, teachers do not have the time to devote to every child the assistance they need in order to fully grasp the concepts they are learning. Every child learns at a different pace and in different ways. By having a personal lesson plan for every student through the headsprout program, they are able to develop better literacy skills in a shorter amount of time. The importance of Ethic in the study of the international relations and in foreign policies decisions by governments and others non states. The structure of individual estates and how they behave has been influenced by the constitution of the international system. In others words, due to the fact that states behave in an anarchy system, in which is not a high authority that protects them in case that they found themselves into international affairs with others states, it makes that states persuade the seeking of power, trough security competition, to ensure its survival. Due to the fact, that states are the major actors worldwide, to guarantee that the competition between them is not aggressively, for example, after Wars, in the settling of peace. Also, in cases of outlaw societies, that refuse to comply with the law of peoples (Rawuls, 1999, pp.4,90). On the other point of view, Lewis had responsibility to the overall well being of the U.S and global financial system. Another major crisis will affect Bank of America shareholders and customers. No matter what Lewis chooses, anyway it will influence to a lot of people. The best choice was to choose one that will minimize the damages. Symbolism In The Masque Of The Red Death Edgar Allan Poe s Masque of the Red Death , is a short story that takes place in the heart of a terrible time where a deadly pestilence takes the lives of those who face it. The main symptom of the Red Death is blood. The other symptoms include sharp pains, and sudden dizziness, and then profuse bleeding at the pores, with dissolution (Poe 4). What makes this plague so deadly is that the duration of the disease is no longer than half an hour, leaving the victim s face and body covered with blood. After some research, I found out that cardinal sine could not be solved by elementary means and that its integral was, in fact, a crucial part of the Gibbs phenomenon, which will be expanded upon in the Applications section (Pg. 8) of this investigation. My aim for this investigation is to prove the integral of cardinal sine to be sine integral and to approximate five (5) values of the sine integral function. Afterwards, I will show how this is relevant in both mathematics and other, more practical, applications. Exploration In order to organize the mathematical exploration most effectively, the exploration will begin with the following problem: Prove that ∫⠖’sinвЃЎx/x is equal to Si (x). Approximate Si (0), Si (ПЂ/6), Si (ПЂ/4), Si (ПЂ/3), and Si (ПЂ/2) using a Taylor polynomial of order 3 at 0 for f(x) = Si (x). In order to verify the results of the approximations, Wolfram Alpha, an online calculator capable of processing the sine integral function, will be used. To begin with, the Taylor series representation of the sine integral function is as such: Si (x)=∑_(n=0 )^в€ ћв–’(( 1)^n x^(2n+1))/(2n+1)(2n+1)! At this point, it is necessary to find the Taylor series representation of sinвЃЎx/x. First, the Taylor series representation of sin (x) is: ∑_(n=0)^в€ ћв–’(гЂ–( 1)гЂ—^n x^(2n+1))/(2n+1)! Therefore, sinвЃЎx/x is equal to: 1/x ∑_(n=0)^в€ ћв–’(гЂ–( 1)гЂ—^n x^(2n+1))/(2n+1)! Which is equal to: ∑_(n=0)^в€ ћв–’(гЂ–( 1)гЂ—^n x^(2n+1))/x(2n+1)! ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Lynch chooses to use such stark contrast in an effort to establish not only the differences in one s perception, but of the psyche as well. The opening sequence is used by Lynch as a metaphor for Jeffrey s state of mind throughout the entire film, as Jeffrey realizes he has a dark side yet is trying (most of the time) to suppress it. The town of Lumberton, like Jeffrey, is an idealized version of what America and Americans should be like and yet, much like Jeffrey s mind, it is full of dark secrets and contradictions. One aspect of Jeffrey s psyche being explored is the notion of his battle between innocent love for a young girl and the animalistic lust he possesses for an older, more mature woman. The good or innocent side of Jeffrey is personified in the character of Sandy. Sandy is often depicted wearing light colors, with blue eyes and perfectly brushed blonde hair. When Sandy is first introduced into the film, she enters through utter darkness, stepping out of the shadows and into the light in a medium shot. Lynch follows this up with a long reverse tracking two shot in which Jeffrey and Sandy make small talk and innocently flirt with one another. Stakeholder management has been recognised as a central part of an organisation s effectiveness. Stakeholders play important roles as advocates, sponsors, partners and agents of change. Much has been written about stakeholder relationships in the private sector and many companies now have dedicated relationship managers and strategies in place to improve and develop external relationships. • 40. Conflict In Cormac Mccarthy s The Road What a conflict! Every author creates some type of conflict to have the reader sitting on the edge of their seats whether the conflict be man versus man, man versus self, or man versus nature. The novel The Road by Cormac McCarthy wrote a story about both a man and a boy who have particularly conflicting characteristics when it comes to decision making. The boy in the story is very optimistic about everything and the man can be pessimistic when either deciding on what to do or when thinking about life or the future. In addition, both characters have different outlooks and personalities that can sometimes collide. Both characters act completely different when confronted by another character in the story. The man is more concerned about the safety of the boy and himself. However, the boy wants to do anything and everything to help anyone that they come across. For example, during one situation in the story, a thief attempted to steal all their belongings. When the man caught him, the boy started crying, Papa?...Papa please don t kill the man (McCarthy 256). In contrast, after the man caught the thief the man held him at gun point and said, If you dont put down the knife and get away from the cart...I m going to blow your brains out (McCarthy 256).The man is more concerned with their safety, whereas the boy is concerned about the wellbeing and safety of the thief. The man acts in a similar manner to Ely when the boy wants to give him food, In the morning they stood in the road and he and the boy argued about what to give the old man (McCarthy 173). These two characters can collide sometimes when deciding on whether or not they should give food to people like Ely or The Lightning Man . Not only are they different when confronted by another character, they are also different on the way they look at arising situations. People perceive situations either two ways: optimistically or pessimistically. In the book, the author showed both ways of how a person would react either optimistically or pessimistically in a post apocalyptic world. He showed this with two characters, the man and the boy, the man reacting both pessimistically and optimistically in situations, and the boy being the optimistic character. ... Corral has reiterated multiple times that he is committed to the Florida Gators and will be early enrolling despite the coaching changes. The different skillset he will provide for this position group is something the unit has been missing for quite some time. The Land Of The Jordan River After the nation of Israel had fled Pharaoh s domination in Egypt and just before crossing the Jordan River into the Promised Land, Moses sent twelve spies, one from each tribe, to assess the new land.
