Reaching the multimedia web from embedded platforms with WPEWebkitIgalia
Nowadays the Web is one of the primary ways for multimedia content consumption
and real-time communication (through WebRTC). During this talk Philippe will
present the WPEWebKit web-engine that has been deployed on a wide range of
embedded platforms and how you can add it to your own Linux-based embedded
device. WPEWebKit is the official WebKit upstream port for embedded platforms.
For multimedia playback and real-time communication it heavily relies on the
GStreamer multimedia framework. Philippe will give an overview of the W3C
specifications supported by WPEWebKit. WPEWebKit products have been deployed in
various embedded environments and hardware platforms. Philippe will focus on
i.MX platforms, outlining the steps required to enable WPEWebKit in Yocto-based
BSPs. WPEWebKit can also be used in server-side innovative ways, such as
dynamic HTML/JS/CSS powered video overlaying. Philippe will present this
use-case, detailing how live video streams can be augmented with overlays.
GstWPE is a GStreamer plugin embedding a WPEWebKit WebView, allowing to inject
a live audio/video representation of any Web page into a GStreamer pipeline.
Both GPU-based hardware-accelerated and software rasterisers runtimes are
supported.

WPEWebKit[1] is a WebKit flavor (also known as port) specially crafted for embedded platforms and use-cases. During this talk I would present WPEWebKit's architecture with a special emphasis on its multimedia backend based on GStreamer[2] and implementing support for the MSE[3], EME[4], MediaCapabilities specifications. I would also present a case study on how to successfully integrate WPEWebKit on i.MX6 and i.MX8M platforms with the Cog[5] standalone reference web-app container or within existing Qt5 applications, using the

LIGGGHTS is an Open Source Discrete Element Method Particle Simulation Software developed by Sandia National Labs. LIGGGHTS stands for LAMMPS Improved for General Granular and Granular Heat Transfer Simulations. The higher programming language C++ is used to write the code of LIGGGHTS, which can be run either in a single- or multi processor. In this document we will discuss about the LIGGGHTS installation for the Linux operating system Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, 13.04, 14.04 LTS and 16.04 LTS. In order to install LIGGGHTS we need few libraries, like libvtk5-dev, libeigen2-dev,
libopenmpi-dev, a C++ compiler, Open MPI, LPP and Paraview. In this article we will discuss the installation procedure of each one in details.
elasticRTC -- how to have your own WebRTC cloud scaling to be billions in min...Luis Lopez
Creating WebRTC applications is simple, but making them scalable in a robust and efficient way isn’t. Due to this, many application developers do not dare to use their own infrastructures and instead prefer to leverage third party clouds for creating their scalable WebRTC services. These clouds are private and usually expose some kind of API that developers consume for accessing WebRTC communication capabilities such as group-communications, media recording or media transcoding. This model is very convenient for creating simple vertical applications, but it also has some drawbacks. First, these clouds billing models are based on pay-per-minute schemes that are not always compatible with the business models desired by application developers. Second, the exposed APIs tend to be restrictive and limit the freedom of developers for innovating. Third, these clouds, being fully private, cannot be extended or customized for specific needs developers may have.
In this talk, we propose an alternative solution to private WebRTC PaaS models based on leveraging novel cloud orchestration technologies such as Cloud Formation or Heat Templates for enabling developers to create their very own platform on top of public clouds. We analyze the technological ingredients required for enabling such models and present some experiments and production deployments showing how any developer may bring her own IaaS cloud for growing on it a full featured WebRTC platform with elastic scalability and full control on the billing and on the underlying technology evolution.
In this talk, I will introduce Guacamole, a HTML 5 based VNC service that allow user access their VM screen in web browser without install anything.
The research part also shows how guacamole will connect VM runs on Xen hypervisor, and show a demo to make our dev version of Guacamole connect to a VM on VMWare.

Simplifying and accelerating converged media with Open Visual CloudLiz Warner
Challenges exist with media transformation into Visual Cloud services and the flexibility to migrate those services to new HW platforms. Learn how Intel and partners are solving these challenges with highly optimized cloud native media processing, media analytics, and graphics/rendering components to quickly and easily deliver end-to-end visual cloud services with scalable open source software. Two visual cloud services around media delivery and media analytics will be demonstrated to showcase how to enable faster time to market for innovative “new media” services.
Scaleable PHP Applications in KubernetesRobert Lemke
Kubernetes is also called the "distributed Linux of the cloud" – which implies that it provides fundamental infrastructure, which can solve a lot of challenges. Let’s see how PHP applications fit into this picture. In this presentation, we are going to explore when Kubernetes is a good fit for operating your PHP application and how it can be done in practice. We’ll look at the whole lifecycle: how to build your application, create or choose the right Docker images, deploy and scale, and how to deal with performance and monitoring. At the end you will have a good understanding about all the different stages and building blocks for running a PHP application with Kubernetes in production.

An OpenShift Primer for Developers to get your Code into the Cloud (PTJUG)Eric D. Schabell
Session given at the PTJUG (Portugal JUG):
Whether you're a seasoned Java developer looking to start hacking on EE6 or you just wrote your first line of Ruby yesterday, the cloud is turning out to be the perfect environment for developing applications in just about any modern language or framework. There are plenty of clouds and platform-as-a-services to choose from, but where to start? Join us for an action-packed hour of power where we'll show you how to deploy an application written in the language of your choice - Java, Ruby, PHP, Perl or Python, with the framework of your choice - EE6, CDI, Seam, Spring, Zend, Cake, Rails, Sinatra, PerlDancer or Django to the OpenShift PaaS in just minutes. And without having to rewrite your app to get it to work the way the cloud provider thinks your app should work.
Check the command-line fu as we leverage Git to onboard apps onto OpenShift Express in seconds, while also making use of the web browser do the heavy-lifting of provisioning clusters, deploying, monitoring and auto-scaling apps in OpenShift Flex.
If you want to learn how the OpenShift PaaS and investing an hour of your time can change everything you thought you knew about developing applications in the cloud, this session is for you!

Homer - Workshop at Kamailio World 2017Giacomo Vacca
Homer is an Open Source tool for real-time analysis and monitoring of VoIP and RTC platforms. It supports all the major OSS voice platforms, it's modular, easy to install and scales to carrier-grade infrastructures. Homer goes beyond collecting and correlating signalling and logs, and can also capture RTCP reports, QoS reports, and other events. Through an ElasticSearch endpoint, Homer supports BigData analysis of traffic.
This workshop focuses on the deployment of a multi-node Homer framework with various approaches: bash installers, Docker containers, Puppet.
We'll see how to configure Kamailio, FreeSWITCH (including the ESL interface), RTPEngine, Janus gateway (Events API), to collect signalling, RTCP reports, app-specific events and have them correlated and presented in a user-friendly GUI.
For advanced users, we'll present the installation of captagent, the standalone capture agent, hepgen.js to generate test traffic, and a Wireshark dissector to have full visibility of data flows.
