Prior to joining Independence Blue Cross, I managed the media and public relations
efforts in Chester City for 17 years with a focus on redefining the perception of the city to
attract entertainment and sports venues to the waterfront area. As a result of the
marketing, public relations, and support of legislatures, Chester City attracted more than
$50 million dollars in development and is now home to Harrah’s Philadelphia Casino,
PPL Park, and Philadelphia Union Soccer League.
In my current role as a Corporate Relations Coordinator at Independence Blue Cross, I
have assisted with redefining the communication tools in the department by creating
boilerplate for external communication documents, drafting copy for internal and external
communications, and expanding Independence Blue Cross brand with signature events
such National Walk@ Lunch Day which had an 8% increase in customer participation.
