Application for the post of the Senior Mechanical Engineer
Respected Ladies and Gentlemen,
Across the span of eightyears working in the mechanical field I have worked into various aspects of production, planning,
design, design estimation (proposals and tendering) & sales and projectsupport. Out of that the initial years were spent in
Production and planning where I was introduced to the latest generation gear manufacturing practices at Power build
Limited (PBL). PBL is pioneer when it comes to manufacturing of the geared motors and reduction gear boxes. Being a
trainee engineer at PBL it was great learning experience to apply my theoretical knowledge gained during B.E. into
practical. The manufacturing process learned during that time is still afresh. After acquiring the know how in gear
manufacturing I shifted my base to crane manufacturing where I started as an offer engineer at M/s Anupam Indutries
Limited. The brief span of 9 months at AIL gave me an insight into the crane industry and provided a solid platform riding
on which I was selected as a design engineer at Kone Cranes. The manufacturing and design estimation experience
which I gained during myinitial two ventures came handy while starting as the design engineer atKone Cranes. It was like
a cake walk for me to switch in placid design environment from a vociferous manufacturing environment. Major portion of
my work at Kone Cranes comprised of Modeling of Crane – Trolley components using UG-NX design tool. The
components and assemblymodeled in UG-NXwere incorporated into Team Center database, which is a Product Lifecycle
Management (PLM) tool from Siemens.
Further I had a phenomenal opportunity to work at Kone Cranes Headquarters at Hyvinkaa, Finland for 6 months, which
helped me to strengthen the intercultural skills by bringing in light with European way of working. The experience at
Finland was a life changing one as I was directly interacting with the design specialists from HQ. This helped me to
enhance my technical knowhow in cranes. Apart from work, the social experience at Finland was quite entertaining one.
Exploring Finland, Russia and Sweden made me fall in love with Europe.
Analytical thinking, Team work, Flexibility and Ownership for work are just as important to me as technical knowledge is
for me. The work experience which I gained at respective locations in India as well as short tenure in Finland will help me
the handle the big industrial projects and also succeed in them.
I very much look forward to meet you in person.
With warm regards,
Purav Joshi
