Erik Carlson is seeking to obtain a version of the "Midas touch" where everything he comes into contact with is better for having known him. He has served in various leadership positions in college and tries to help others through friendship and sincere acts of service. To whom it may concern,
Today there are those that are immensely successful and are said to have the Midas touch. Men
that have this trait today seem to have a unique quality that makes all of their projects
prosperous. It is my personal goal to obtain a version of this gift. I do not want everything that I
touch turn to gold. Instead, I want everyone that I come in contact with to be better for having
known me. I want them to be golden.
To accomplish this goal I have served in a wide variety of positions. Ranging from being a
Swing Club Officer/ Instructor, a member of the cheer and stunt team, Finance Club Vice
President, and now currently as the Business School Senator. But even bigger than holding a
position, I try to accomplish this goal by simply having the attitude of helping others. I feel that
one of my strengths is being able to talk to new people and make connections with them. I have
tried to take advantage of this strength by being friends with everyone, and showing that
friendship in sincere ways. I have enjoyed my experience at SUU and I have worked to make it a
better place.
My career goal is to be part of an influential organization that will provide me with the means to
have a service-centered future. I plan to have the Midas touch and enhance the company that I
work for. When I join a new organization I will work to quickly learn the basics of the job. Once
I have mastered those tasks, I look for ways to be more efficient and expand on those
fundamental duties. I aim to be a priceless company asset and I genuinely appreciate your time
and consideration.
