AUTOMATION IN AUTOMOTIVE MANUFACTURING
The automotive industry is the most highly automated manufacturing industry. A myriad of robotics, programmable controllers and drive systems work in a real-time process environment.
Automotive manufacturing systems need to be highly accurate, efficient and reliable.
Machines rely on complex automation platforms, employing advanced and powerful PLC systems to precisely control multi-axis interpolated motion sequences.
Industry code programming standards such as IEC 61131 have helped improve machine automation programming tremendously.
Automation in machine tools helps meet production targets:
• For machines used by automotive manufacturers such as press lines, welding lines, painting lines, engine assembly and chassis assembly lines
• For machines used by Tier 1 manufacturers to produce ancillaries such as brakes, connecting rods, pistons, clutches, transmission components like steering and axles, differential gear boxes, etc.
IDTechEx Research: Printed Electronics for the Automotive IndustryIDTechEx
The total market for flexible and printed electronics in automotive applications is expected to reach $5.5bn by 2026, spearheaded by significant growth expected by OLED displays and lighting as well as in-mold electronics applications in the next decade. These slides from IDTechEx focus on these, along with other technologies that benefit from additive processing and flexibility in form factor and will include advances in printed sensors, haptics, thin film photovoltaics and others. Slides cover: Market forecasts for printed electronics in vehicles; Mature markets; Fast growing opportunities; Opportunities in the long term.

An encoder is an electro mechanical device, which converts motion to electrical signals that are readable by control devices such as counter or Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). With the help of an encoder, position, count, speed, or direction can be obtained. An absolute encoder provides a unique code for each shaft position. Thus, for an absolute encoder, every position is distinctive. There are various players in the global market providing absolute encoders that are robust in nature and capable of operating under critical conditions.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.
