It gives 36 students a pre-test on vocabulary from 5 stories. The students then read the stories and used vocabulary strategies. A post-test assessed vocabulary gains. Results showed the students had little prior knowledge but scored higher on the post-test, confirming reading short stories and using strategies improved their vocabulary. The thesis concludes short stories are an effective educational tool that provide authentic language exposure and cultural enrichment for vocabulary learning. It recommends educators utilize short stories in EFL classes.

Rebecca Woods has many years of experience teaching English and literature. She went to college to study English translation but had to leave to provide for her children. She completed a TEFL course through Panama Quality Education to gain certification and better job opportunities, including teaching English abroad. She has experience teaching middle school, high school, and adult English students, including those with special needs. She also advised a debate team for 10 years and traveled internationally. She hopes to make a positive impact as a compassionate and enthusiastic English teacher.

There are 4 phases of wound healing: hemostasis, inflammation, proliferation, and remodeling. This document also describes the mechanism of wound healing. Factors that affect healing include infection, uncontrolled diabetes, poor nutrition, age, anemia, the presence of foreign bodies, etc.
