Mrs. Macni is a Grade 6 teacher. After her English class, since it is still pandemic,
she only assigned a group of pupils to visit Carigara Municipal Library on Friday and
have some tour inside the place and make an interview to the librarian. She told
the group that after going to the library, they will be reporting to the class the
experience they had and all the informations gathered from interviewing the
librarian.
Aryan, Princess and Alexa are the pupils chosen by their teacher. They’re
excited because this will be their first time to go inside the library. They arrived at
exactly 9 in the morning and luckily the librarian was already there. The librarian
was very accommodating. The girls were able to see big dividers full of books.
They were amazed how the books and other reading materials were organized.
The girls had a productive day because they learned a lot of things from the
librarian and they’re already excited to share everything to the class on Monday.

Reference Materials:
-A dictionary lists words alphabetically. These words are called entry
words or headwords. The information you get from the dictionary
includes the following: spelling, etymology, parts of speech, antonyms,
pronunciation, synonyms, meaning or definition, and syllabication.
1. Dictionary
-is an annual publication listing a set of events forthcoming in the next
year. It includes information like weather forecasts, farmers' planting
dates, tide tables, and other tabular data often arranged according to
the calendar.
2. Almanac
-is a collection of factual articles on all kinds of topics. This is used when someone wants to find
information about a person, place or thing. The titles of these articles are arranged in alphabetical
order. People are listed by their last names first. The cross-references at the end of the article refer
you to other articles with information on the same topic.
When an encyclopedia consists of several volumes, the last volume is usually an index. The
index lists the volume number and the pages where you will find information on a given topic.
3. Encyclopedia
-is a book of synonyms and antonyms. It is helpful for people who want
to use a variety of words with the same or almost the same meanings.
Writers often use the thesaurus.
4. Thesaurus
-is a book of maps. An index of countries, cities, and physical features (rivers, deserts,
mountain ranges, etc) is found either at the front or at the back pages of the atlas. To
find a given country, look it up in the index. The index indicates the page that
contains the map you need. Use the coordinates listed in the index to pinpoint the
location of a place.

 They are both medium of information and entertainment.
How do they differ?
 Printed resources provide visual experience, safe and good friends
of children while non-printed resources provide sound experience
and has some bad effects on children because of exposure to sex
and violence.
