CSR ACTIVITIES OF STARBUCKS

• The first Starbucks opened in Seattle, Washington,
on March 31, 1971
• Three partners who met while they were students at
the University of San Francisco: Jerry Baldwin, Zev
Siegl, and Gordon Bowker were inspired to sell
high-quality coffee beans and equipment by coffee
roasting entrepreneur.

one person, one cup and one neighborhood

STARBUCKS CSR INITIATIVES
Starbucks’ social responsibility strategy is based on three pillar:
1. Community
2. Ethical sourcing of
sustainable product 3. Environment
COMMUNITY
• From the neighborhoods where our stores are located to those where our coffee is grown,
we are committed to creating and investing in opportunities for people around the world.

ETHCIAL SOURCING OF SUSTAINABLE PRODUCT
Our success is linked to the success of the farmers and suppliers who grow and
produce our products. They have launched various programs for supporting the
interest of their farmers. A support center for farmers is introduced to teach them
the techniques of farming.

Starbucks tries to be as environmentally friendly as
possible in every aspect of their operations. We are
committed to minimizing our environmental footprint
and inspiring other to do the same.
