The purpose was to promote HMV by featuring beloved musicians that would encourage people to also love the store.

They selected this genre because they are most familiar with R&B artists and music, R&B appeals to the author and is popular among readers. Additionally, the magazine will represent R&B artists that interest the author. The author believes they can create the perfect representation of R&B artists through the magazine's format. Research also showed that R&B is popular with people the author's age and older.

The only clue to solve the mystery is the secret of inner child, ego and true self shut up in subconscious.
