21st century education itself is a newer form of
instruction that focuses on bringing together a set of
skills such as technology, research, and outcomes for
students to use in their education as well as their life
The math and science pillar focuses on just that, math and
science.
For math this includes studying how things work together
when it comes to numbers and measurements
For science it includes studying how things work
together by using experiments and observations

3. Importance
This is important because we use math and science day to
day, all the time. If you’re cooking, you’re using both
math and science. If you’re telling time, you’re using
math. There are and innumerable different ways a person
uses basic and fundamental math and science in their
life. So, learning the basics at a young age and building
on those throughout school is necessary for every
student.
With globalization we are competing with the world (and
losing)

There are now videos and tutorials on the different
applications of math and science.
At the click of a button, both students and teachers can
access videos, images, websites that can help them learn
and teach what they need to know.
For example,there are videos and tutorials on almost every
experiment and math equation on the internet and it is
easily accessible to everyone in and out of the
classroom.

WebQuest - synthesizing across sciences

Students are to complete PBL a on genetic diseases where
they are genetic counselors (only given a scenario)
First they must research the disease hitting specific
points as outlined through the structure of a webquest
Then, students must realize they need a family history
Given a family history they must critical analyze the data
to create a pedigree
Calculate the probability of a child having the disease
Then, using a form of media they must present their

7. Conclusion
In conclusion, for the next generation of students to be
successful in a globalized 21st century, teachers across all
disciplines must get students excited about math and science
while they give students the opportunity to hone their
skills. Technology has irreplaceably made its way into the
classroom, so it is up to 21st century educators to embrace
technology and make the most of it - even when it comes to
teaching the simplest areas of math and science across
disciplines.
