Global energy consumption has increased concerns around air pollution, carbon fuels, and energy waste. Significant energy savings can be achieved in manufacturing, construction, and power generation industries. Ameri Energy Group's SunShine Daylighting System captures sunlight to provide interior lighting, saving up to 100% of electricity during daylight hours and around 40% overall. Studies show positive impacts of natural lighting on employee and student performance. The skylight units disperse light evenly and lower energy costs while reducing carbon emissions.
Plastics are polymers made from monomers that have useful properties like flexibility, durability, and light weight. There are two main types of plastics - thermoplastics that soften when heated and can be remolded, and thermosets that do not soften when heated. While plastics are inexpensive and long-lasting, they are also non-biodegradable and produce toxic fumes when burned. Solutions to plastic waste include reducing plastic use, reusing plastics, and recycling thermoplastics.

My slides at Nordic Testing Days 6.6.2024
Climate impact / sustainability of software testing discussed on the talk. ICT and testing must carry their part of global responsibility to help with the climat warming. We can minimize the carbon footprint but we can also have a carbon handprint, a positive impact on the climate. Quality characteristics can be added with sustainability, and then measured continuously. Test environments can be used less, and in smaller scale and on demand. Test techniques can be used in optimizing or minimizing number of tests. Test automation can be used to speed up testing.

8. Solacoat has many applications.
Refrigerated warehouses
Petroleum Tank Farms
Commercial Offices
Distribution Centers
Factories with cooled controlled area’s
Trucks
Ships, boats
Railways (cars, reduces elongation of rails)
Containers
Retail Centers
Shopping Malls
Airports (runways, fuel tanks, and terminal roofing)
Industrial refrigeration facilities
Hospitals
Dairy and Chicken Farms
10. Proven Performance
Scientific and Industry Validation
Scientific Testing
“Energy savings due to a reduction in air conditioning load associated with the downward heat flow from the roof are
shown to be as high as 33%.”
-- Prof. John Bell Queensland University, Australia
“The reflectance of the “Solacoat” is considerably higher (about 90%) and rejects most of the incoming solar radiation
whereas the color bond paint has only a reflectance value of 20% (absorbing most of the solar radiation).”
-- Dr. Harry Suehrcke (PhD)
Industry Approval: Big 5 International Building and Construction Show
GAIA awards gold & silver (primer and Solacoat)
The Big 5 GAIA Awards are annual awards for the best green products and services worldwide.
11. GAIA Awards Criteria
1. Fundamental innovation
2. World-leading technology
3. Sector-leading technology
4. Multiple innovative features
5. Benefits to other building systems
6. Human health benefits: no VOCs, non-toxic
7. Energy efficient, fully recyclable
8. Environmental quality: organic, no/low toxicity
12. versus Alternatives
• Alternative products are white paint, ceramic crystal and
glass/ceramic sphere paint additives. Paints normally last 5-7 years.
• Heat-reflective properties of alternative products decline rapidly
after application. Oxidation and weathering reduce reflectivity of
alternative products by at least 30 percent within 3 years
• Solacoat maintains 30 percent savings in energy for at least 15 to 20
years with no deterioration
14. Solacoat vs Conventional Products
Solacoat absorbs far
less heat than any
conventional reflective
coating such as white
paint
Pastel colours still give
at least 30 percent
savings
Dark colours save less
than 30 percent
depending on
installation

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the effect of the product in winter time when temperature drops?
The product protects against infrared and ultraviolet light causing heating. Should the interior need heating in the winter, then normal conditions will
not change.
Does Solacoat insulate winter heating?
No. Solacoat is not an insulator. The technology is designed specifically to block solar radiation from the outside, and has no impact on blocking heat
energy from the inside.
Is the product recyclable?
Solacoat is non-toxic and has no environmental impact in terms of either VOCs and air pollution or water contamination.
How does the product perform in the Northern Hemisphere?
Solacoat buyers in northern climates are now buying the product and reporting efficiency gains in summer along the same lines as reported from
Australia and Southeast Asia.
Do weather extremes change product performance?
Ice, sleet or snow do not affect Solacoat over its lifetime.
How does Solacoat perform at night?
The product is distinctly effective during daylight hours when heat transference is highest. During the night, the coated surface will continue to cool
as per normal. Internal temperature variances are at minimal and internal temperature is easier and cheaper to control.
16. Application Guidelines
Application Guidelines:
Primer Coating (undercoat) and SolaCoat are applied
Requires water cleaning of surface (high pressure or soft cleaning)
Requires airless sprayer application for both primer and final coating
Around 50 micron thickness after application -- lowest in class
Weather conditions of: > 8 degree Celsius & humidity < 85%
