The Cool School Challenge is an educational program that engages students and teachers in reducing carbon dioxide emissions at schools. The program provides tools and resources like workshops, a website, and classroom activities to help schools conduct energy audits, create action plans, and monitor their progress in reducing emissions. Over 400 teachers in Washington have been trained through the program so far. Schools that participate pledge to reduce their emissions and share their results online.

3. The Cool School Challenge is an educational program intended to engage students and teachers in practical strategies to reduce carbon dioxide ( CO 2 ) and other greenhouse gas emissions schoolwide. What is the Cool School Challenge?

13. Results to Date Total CO 2 Savings – 1,791,980 lbs. Electricity $$$ Savings - RHS saved $22,500 in first three years. Teachers Trained – 400+ in WA and 40 in IL. Pledges Received - 115 schools in WA, CO, FL, NY, IL and CA, and Dubai.
