This talk will try to break this approach, and will introduce how we end up using ephemeral namespaces within our CI/CD pipeline. It will cover the architecture of our system for running the user acceptance tests on isolated ephemeral namespaces with every bits and pieces running within pods. While doing this, we will set up our CI/CD pipeline on top of TravisCI, GoCD, and Selenium that is controlled by Nightwatch.js.

Project Frankenstein: A multitenant, horizontally scalable Prometheus as a se...
In this talk we'll present a prototype solution for multitenant, horizontally scalable Prometheus as a Service, code name "Project Frankenstein".
Frankenstein turns Prometheus architectural assumptions on their head, by marrying the PromQL query engine with a storage layer based on DynamoDB and S3. We have disaggregated the Prometheus binary into a microservices-style architecture, with separate services for distribution, ingest, alerting rules and storage. By designing all these services as fungible replicas, this solution can be scaled out with ease and failure of any individual replica can be dealt with gracefully.
This multitenant, scale-out Prometheus service forms a core component of Weave Cloud, a hosted management, monitoring and visualisation platform for cloud native applications. This platform is built from 100% open source components, and we're working with the Prometheus community to contribute all the changes we've made back to Prometheus. Docker - fast dev faster testing
Docker can help speed up development and testing cycles. Integration tests that run in Docker containers can be set up and run much faster than traditional integration tests. Docker allows tests to run on a developer's laptop using pre-built, disposable containers that provide a standard, controlled environment. This results in tests running in minutes rather than hours, and more tests being run throughout the development cycle.

Scaling jenkins with kubernetes
This document discusses scaling Jenkins with Kubernetes. Previously, Jenkins was run on single EC2 instances with issues like underutilization and port collisions. The new approach runs Jenkins on Kubernetes, allowing on-demand PODs for each build with complete isolation. A modified Kubernetes plugin was created to support multiple containers and persistent volumes per POD. Builds now have isolated environments, persistent storage, and can scale across Kubernetes nodes. This saves costs by using spot instances for Kubernetes nodes managed by Spot Fleets.
ChinaNetCloud - Cloud Operations for Gaming - Tencent July 2014
The document discusses how cloud computing and DevOps technologies can be used to automate the provisioning and deployment of internet servers and game services. It describes a two-phase approach involving 1) automatically provisioning virtual machines and infrastructure using tools like Docker, Chef and cloud APIs and 2) deploying code and configurations using configuration management, deployment automation and version control. The approach aims to provide fast, flexible provisioning and deployment across development, test and production environments.
Jenkins as a Service
1) The document describes how a PaaS provider implemented continuous integration as a service at scale for over 700 .NET repositories using a Cake-based approach with common scripts and interfaces.
2) Common Cake scripts were developed and stored in a master repository to enable centralized management of CI/CD processes and deployment of repositories on demand.
3) Additional features like static code analysis, Slack notifications, and custom dashboards were integrated to provide visibility and monitoring across all repositories.
4) While Cake covered around 30% of repositories initially, additional adoption of Jenkins pipelines increased coverage to 70% by automating more common processes.
5) The provider aims to further improve automation and hide complexity by never exposing
