3. ABSTRACT
The objective of this project entitled “VEDAM – CONTENT
SHARING SYSTEM (ONLINE) FOR INTERNATIONAL
INSTITUTE OF PROFESSIONAL STUDIES DAVV” is to
provide a user friendly and easily understandable GUI to
users to easily upload subject notes and videos. User can
also update the notes details and delete the notes
uploaded by him. This project also helps in
administrative work such as management of notes and
users. Admin can also monitor notes uploaded by user
and able to accept or reject notes file. There is always a
need of a system that will provide the online sharing of
study notes at International Institute of Professional
Studies DAVV Indore.
4. CURRENT SYSTEM AND ITS LIMITATIONS
• No online system to muster students and faculties
of a particular course at a single platform.
• The information shared is mostly limited to
curriculum.
• No formal channel of communication between
students and faculties for sharing contents.
• There is no platform where students can access
standard contents for exam or placement
preparations, directly from IIPS faculties.
5. • The system is an online portal for students, teachers and alumni of
International Institute of Professional Studies only.
• It allows college faculty to share important content/information with
students in form of videos or documents.
• The website allows students, teachers and alumni to upload and
download documents and videos on the online portal.
• Any user – Student/Faculty/Teacher can create an account using
Name, Contact and Email ID.
• Each user has to mention their course and category –
Student/Teacher/ Alumni for Signup.
• After creation of account, the user can Login using his Email and
Password credentials.
• For uploading any document/video a user must be Logged In at the
portal.
• Any user can upload content by mentioning following details—
– User must mention the course for which the video/notes is related to.
• User must specify the subject of the notes/document.
6. Planning and Requirement Analysis
The survey/analysis was done using a
questionnaire. The questionnaire was
prepared using Google Forms. The form
link was then circulated among IIPS
faculties and students via WhatsApp. The
questionnaire is a set of 23 questions
focused on student’s requirements and
potential interest in the proposed
system, it included the following
questions :
7. Questionnaire

7) How often do you exchange notes with your juniors/seniors?
8) Do you wish to share your knowledge with your peers?

with your classmates/teachers/seniors/alumni?
10) How often do you interact with your Faculties outside classroom?
11) Do you feel the need of obtaining knowledge apart from your decided
syllabus/subjects?

22) Does your college have a centralized formal channel to exchange
documents/knowledge with your faculties, seniors, juniors, alumni?
23) Will you be interested to join a platform that brings together your college's
faculties, students and alumni together?
9. Conclusions from Survey
• Students rely for preparation on online resources and
notes, this gives room for development of an online portal
to share notes.
• Many students never prepare notes, which will benefit the
proposed system making them potential users.
• Whereas, a good amount of students will be available to
upload their self prepared notes.
• A number of students find it difficult to interact with their
seniors, teachers and alumni outside classrooms/sessions,
this increases chances of them developing interest in an
online portal.
• Students and faculties are likely to show active
participation at the portal.
10. Economic Feasibility
• The cost effectiveness of the project is estimated using
economic analysis.
• The system is considered as economically feasible as
almost all students have access to internet. There is no
need of bearing any cost on resources for development of
portal. Only cost involved is the cost of deploying the
website on internet. Only resource required are system
that meets hardware and software requirements. These
costs are quiet minimal and can be met from the college’s
development centre. No cost involved in equipment
installation, maintenance, or cost spent on human
resources.
11. Technical Feasibility
• Easy to use – Any user who has knowledge of simple computer
operations can easily access the website. Thus, the portal is
easy to use.
• Security – The website tries to maintain user security. Each
user account is locked using user’s email ID and password.
Each upload is first approved by system admin.
• Maintainability – The project involves minimum cost for
maintenance. New updates in frontend and backend are
technically and economically feasible.
• Abstraction – The project employs maximum level of
abstraction as it displays only essential functionalities to users.
Rights of accepting and rejecting any documents/videos purely
reside with the admin
12. Design
Admin Module
• Manage(View/Delete) Users
• Manage(View/Delete) Notes
• Accept or Reject Notes
• Change Password
User Module
• Upload Notes
• Search Notes Via stream , title and subject
• Download Notes
• Delete and update our Notes
• Change Password
21. Testing
Unit Test – This test verifies the program logic and
is based on the knowledge of the program
structure.
Integration Test – This test verifies the entire
system’s functionality according to the design
specification.
Business Requirements – This test verifies
whether specific requirements of the client are
met.
Acceptance Testing – This test verifies whether the
system needs to meet the initial objectives and
customer’s expectations.
22. Advantages of Project
• Access to most required information
• Data Security
• Restrictive data access, as per login assigned only.
• Organized and structured storage of facts.
• No decay of old Records.
• Notes are accessible from anywhere.
• Centralized control by Administrator.
• Less paperwork
• Complete web based system
• More reliable content
• Better consumption of time and effort
• The system provides a mechanism for teachers to share curriculum as well as non-
curriculum based topics with students.
• The website aims to promote development of industry related skills, knowledge of new
trends and current technologies among students
23. Limitations of Project
Besides the above achievements and the successful
completion of the project, we still feel the project has
some limitations, listed as below:
▪ It is not a large scale system.
▪ Only limited information provided by this system.
▪ Since it is an online project, customers need internet
connection.
▪ Integration of larger database system is required for large
scale use.
▪ Success of proposed system depends on active
participation of users.
▪ Assigning an admin to the system is a tedious task.
24. Future Prospective
Scope
The proposed work will try to provide a centralized
system for knowledge sharing. The portal aims
to provide a better, easy, efficient and quick
system to IIPS members and reduced regular
notes hunting. Moreover, if implemented
successfully this will provide faculties and
students to share their knowledge in the form of
lecture or motivational videos as well. This will
provide students with direct access to faculty
notes and videos.
25. Possible Updates
Any project always has scope of better updates.
The possible updates which can be made in
this project are following:
• Thumbnail videos
• Better search feature and GUI
• Integration of larger database
• Option for blog posts
