Editor's Notes

  • #2 Presentation Title So, who am I and what is my relationship with Plone? I'm an engineer in the Linux & Open Source R&D Organization at Hewlett-Packard in Fort Collins, CO. Our team uses Plone as a collaboration tool and as a knowledge base. It provides a central location where we can meet virtually to share, exchange and provide feedback on various types of information for our project. (this is good for our geographically distributed team). In addition, Plone enables anyone to add content so we’re not limited to having one webmaster. You’ll learn more about these features but I’ll mention that Plone is attactive to us because of its strong user/account setup allows us to control permissions to content on the site. (ie. engineering content separate from customer content). The workflow feature also allows more tightly managed information via a review process to ensure more accuracy (as much as possible). We have the overarching goal of being the central location for OSS and Linux product knowledge in HP
