WSO2Con EU 2016: Enterprise Mobility Management: Moving Beyond Traditional MDMWSO2
Enterprises have always needed a clear strategy when adopting mobility. However, these strategies have drastically evolved during the last couple of years. They are no longer centered around traditional device management problems like whether to allow BYOD (bring your own device) or COPE (corporately owned, personally enabled), or which device platform to operating system to use. Instead, the focus has now shifted to much more advanced strategies that enable organizations to build connected businesses that allow agility through digital transformation. Hence, they need a device management tool that’s flexible, simple and extensible enough to complement such business strategies.
In this session Prabath will discuss the modern needs of enterprise mobility management that move beyond traditional mobile device management (MDM). He will also share his views and experiences of how enterprise mobility management can be made a part of your connected business ecosystem by having the right tool for the right task.

HOW FUTURISTIC TECHNOLOGY CAN CHANGE FUTURE OF MOBILE APP DEVELOPMENTTekRevol LLC
The world of technology and mobile app development is demanding developers to have a more future-oriented mindset. The future of mobile apps is heavily dependent on the evolution of technology. As technology grows, its use cases will create more dynamic change within the app development world. Mobile app technology is diverse and can help break barriers of personalization and convenience. These technologies have immense potential, and when hiring app developers, app development companies have to ensure compliance with these changes. For developers, it is essential to gain expertise concerning these technologies to ensure their applications are competitive and set industry standards.
The GTO 2013 focuses on this confluence, which is transforming the way companies deliver millions of systems, software, and services to billions of users. While each technology driver is important when considered individually, this confluence is fueling four “mega-trends” with significant implications for enterprises.
More than 1 billion cell phones and 179 billion mobile applications downloaded every year, mobile
development is surely one of the imaginative and effectively developing division. The mobile
application business sector is seemingly overwhelmed by Google applications (Gmail, Maps,
Search), Social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Youtube) and Gaming applications (Angry
winged creatures, Temple Run). Enormous players like Walmart, Bank of America and Amazon are
utilizing mobile applications for marking, enhancing client engagement, direct showcasing and so
forth. Little and medium size organizations are additionally taking after the mobile pattern,
understanding that a viable mobile system includes more than only a mobile-accommodating site.

AI & India : The potential to be the next global centre of innovationUmakant Soni
The combination of a large and rapidly growing mobile-internet connected population along with startups being able to access their data along with open-source intelligence research means they can leverage decades of research, apply it to data, and pipe the results to build context-aware, predictive and extremely personalised business models.
This can be built on intelligent process automation and forecasting frameworks for speed and precision. Overall, these businesses will have potential for step-changes in operational efficiency and effectiveness in understanding and fulfilling customer needs.
This is especially so in India, where small screens on many smartphones can create vast pools of data to power AI. By further automating business decisions through machine learning, and surfacing them through smart, intelligent interfaces, these startups will disrupt older technologies and traditional businesses – based on heuristical approaches – and can emerge as “new category leaders”.

Viability of bring your-own-computer BYOC programsMasaf Dawood
The confluence of powerful hand held devices, and a broadband network at home has created the desire for employees to expect the same level of connectedness in the enterprise space/workplace. Businesses are feeling the pressure to develop a hybrid support approach that also includes Gen Y and Gen Z workers, who are technology savvy and would like to use these devices in the workplace. What is un-clear is how some of the programs aimed at integrating users own devices will work with the existing IT/framework and this paper attempts to provide a balanced approach to analyze the problem and propose a solution.

CIO Perspectives: Corporações e startups - competidores ou parceiros?Cezar Taurion
CIO Global Summit Rio - Desmitificando big dataCezar Taurion
É a “shared economy”.

Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.
