The Consumer Action Handbook is published annually by the Federal
Citizen Information Center at the General Services Administration which
provides helpful tips about preventing identity theft, understanding credit,
filing a consumer complaint, along with many other useful topics.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is the nation’s consumer protection
agency. The FTC works to prevent fraudulent, deceptive and unfair
business practices in the marketplace and to provide information to help
consumers spot, stop and avoid them.
6. Long Term Care Ombudsman Program (Administration on Aging)
Long-Term Care Ombudsmen are advocates for residents of nursing
homes, board and care homes, assisted living facilities and similar adult
care facilities. They work to resolve problems of individual residents and to
bring about changes at the local, state and national levels that will improve
residents’ care and quality of life.
