The inaugural nonstop flight from Denver to Panama City carried Denver officials and business leaders, including representatives from Smashburger, which has locations in Panama and Costa Rica. Denver hopes the new flight will increase travel between the two cities as passengers can connect to over 40 other Central and South American cities through Copa Airlines. The daily flight will operate most months and the group on the first flight toured the Panama Canal and met with local business leaders after being greeted at the airport.
