• Behavioural interview questions are designed to find out how
you have reacted in a particular situation;
• When explaining your examples please include background
details such as where you were working and what your role
was;
• Use "I" statements and not "we" statements, we are primarily
concerned with your personal experience;
• Don't try to cover up past mistakes; show how you learned from
your experiences.

• STAR:
o Describe the Situation;
o Give details on what you had to do - Tasks
o Give details on Actions you have taken;
o Tell us what was the outcome (or Result) of the situation
• Try to use different examples for each question and always keep
in mind which competency is addressed in preparing your
response.

• “Tell me about a situation when you had to deal with an angry
customer”
• “Can you tell me about a situation when you went the extra
mile for a customer”
Expected answer: discuss how you develop positive customer
relationships by actively listening and making the effort to
understand the customer’s needs, exceeding the customer’s
expectations and taking responsibility for the customer’
satisfaction.

• Conservative environment: Neutral-colored suit; Professional
shoes.
• Start Up: less formal clothes;
• Overall appearance must be neat and clean.
• What to bring?
o Notepad, pen, professional binder;
o A portfolio (if applicable).

Non-verbal communication
• Project confidence: smile, eye contact, firm handshake;
• Let the interviewer or panel members take the lead and set the
tone;
• Sit up straight, no nervous gestures (i.e. foot-tapping);
• Maintain good eye contact when answering the questions.

• do not ask for information that can be found on the
