This is the deck I used for the Connected Car Chicago Meetup kickoff. Ih this deck I discuss the growing connected car movement, the future of urban tech and urban mobility, what developers can do in the space, and where the most massive opportunities are for entrepreneurs. Thee meetup itself was fantastic with over 50 attendees mostly from the auto world. Chicago is definitely a top three city when it comes to connected car technology and innovation, and I'll definitely be making stops here again soon. Quick Notes: - In addition to connected car communities, we've also started future of urban mobility communities internationally - Vinli will be announcing some exciting news next week in Germany which may significantly impact my slide presentation - A core focus of mine is growing the connected car space. In that, I come across devs, industry experts, entrepreneurs, community people, etc. All cars for all people we say. - We've been toying around with this concept of future car. Being a maintainer, or even a notable contributor in an open source project is a damn hard job. Not only are you expected to tackle the hardest programming tasks, but suddenly you're also expected to do all these "softer" things - review other people's work, provide feedback, ramp up other contributors, etc.
