The Museum Development Conference 2013 was held on June 19th at the People's History Museum in Manchester. The one-day conference included sessions on getting front-of-house staff to effectively sell items and memberships, how to properly do commissioning and bidding for contracts, changes to gift aid and how they affect museums, making the most of grants and support from AIM, and a session on understanding income and expenditure to identify ways small changes can make big effects. The conference provided information and best practices to help museums increase their revenue.
