This document compares water consumption at home and at school during the summer and winter seasons in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain. At home, average summer consumption was 11.2 m3 compared to 10.23 m3 in winter. At school, total consumption was slightly higher in summer at 90.4 m3 versus 88.6 m3 in winter, but average daily consumption and use per person were nearly identical between the seasons. The conclusion is that there is little difference in water usage between summer and winter due to the warm, dry climate and consistent temperatures year-round, and the awareness of residents about conserving water.
