2. Using fossil fuel energy in UAE in the last 10 years
instead of sustainable energy, particularly solar energy
The problem: Since UAE is one the highest energy
consumer in the world, this adds to environmental pollution
and carbon emission. (Jamil, et.al, 2016). The energy
segment is the largest contributor to greenhouse gas (GHG)
emissions. More than 90% all greenhouse gases are emitted
from this segment. Nevertheless, the demand is
consistently increasing along with the economic growth,
population growth, increase urbanization. Also, the low
energy costs are increasing energy demand. (Khondaker,
et.al, 2016). Greenhouse gases are a major contributor to
climate changes. Which eventually leads to increase of sea
level and desertification, food shortage and other
destructive effects.

3. Causes:
Transition to sustainable energy might not be easy; people are more
familiar with fossil fuel energy. One of reason is lack of market and
technological awareness. Additionally, in one of the studies they
investigated the opinion of 100 person from Abu Dhabi and Dubai
equally, who were mix between normal citizen and professionals who
work in energy related institutes, more that 84% of them think that
investments to support transition to renewable energy and the climate
condition are available. But around 59% think that the technical skills is
still missing and around 31% believe the infrastructure is lacking here.
(Al Shehhi, 2021).

4. The suggested solution:
The suggested solution Since fossil fuel is limited, additional sustainable energy
needs to be explored, such as biomass, ocean tides, wave energy, concentrated solar,
etc. Out of the different form of sustainable energy, solar power is a preferred
choice. That is because its relatively advanced technology and readily available
since the land and the sun are abundant. It has limitless potential in UAE.
The solar radiation can provide a daily average that exceed 6kWh/m2, taking in
consideration 80-90% clear skies throughout the year. (Munawwar, & Ghedira,
2014). Solar energy can be obtained through two ways, one of them thermo- solar
concentrator solar power (CSP) which uses the sunlight to produce heat energy
which will be converted into electrical energy.

5. Government can support of the infrastructure for solar system for homes
and organizations such ace solar panels and batteries, etc. Many other
suggestions were given to provide solutions for UAE energy including
proper utilization and planning the sustainable resources

6. The Lo’s Applaction:
• EvidenceBased : As an evidence I used an empirical study, Renewable
and Sustainable Energy Reviews, International Journal of Greenhouse
Gas Control and statics.
• Audience: The audience here was people who are in the UAE to raise
awareness.
• Persuasion: I used statics in diifarent parts in the essay, as a logos to
persuade readers with, since statics a supportive evidence.
