To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing on behalf of the Chicopee Comprehensive High School Interns to request a
donation for our community service project, Thomas J. O’Connor Animal Control & Adoption
Center. The drive will be taking place October 21st through November 14th 2013 and
coordinated through Chicopee Comprehensive High School’s Career Center.
The Thomas J. O’Connor Animal Control & Adoption Center is an organization that rescues
homeless and stray animals from the Springfield, Chicopee, and Holyoke areas. The volunteers
work around the clock caring for the abandoned or mistreated and sick animals to nurse them
back to health. Volunteers care for the animals until they are able to find their forever homes.
The animals that you will be helping range between kittens and puppies to cats and dogs. The
animals that enter this shelter have an adoption rate of 96%.
Because TJO takes in almost 4,000 animals each year, it becomes a financial burden; we need
the help of local businesses for donations. We are looking for donations of canned cat food,
canned dog food, cleaning supplies or money of any amount. Any donation will help make our
community service project a success by benefiting an animal in need. Our goal is to receive 500
items of food and cleaning supplies, and/or $500.00.
Since the TJO shelter and its volunteers help so many animals in our community, it is our turn to
thank them for their dedication by donating to their shelter. We appreciate the time that you
took out of your busy day to read this request. Please consider also letting your customers, and
your community contacts know that you are joining us in the efforts to feed and comfort the
animals. If you would like more information on donating to our community service project for
TJO, please feel free to call (413)-626-0225 or e-mail bdomingos@charter.net.
Sincerely,
Brenna Domingos
