This document summarizes a community consultation meeting held in Majesty Gardens, Jamaica to discuss a community renewal program. The program aims to improve social inclusion, service delivery, governance, and reduce crime and violence through coordinated interventions. Majesty Gardens was selected as a pilot community due to its ranking on a vulnerability index. To date, achievements under the program include completing a community census and priority plan, developing a community development committee, and providing skills training. Planned interventions over 2012-2014 include improving governance, expanding housing and infrastructure, social and economic programs, and youth development initiatives. The coordinated renewal process aims to improve the community in a sustainable way through evidence-based, integrated multi-level interventions.

Nigerian Youths: Education, Welfare, Personal Development and Aspirationsseunoyeniran
In recent years, the WHO, UNICEF and EU concerted effort has been made not only to delineate youth from children and adults while promoting policy reforms and frameworks for youth investment and coordination (WHO, 2002). The question then is how do we capture or provide evidences of the social, cultural and economic orientation of youths in Nigeria? What tools does policy stakeholders need to work with in dealing with these young people? Is there any advocacy for a long-term youth development strategy in Nigeria. The primary objective of this research is to provide empirical tools for public policy analysis on how to improve youth development in relation to social, cultural and economic developments/shocks
A different kind of IT leadership is required in the digital age. New leadership styles and maybe even new leadership capabilities are needed to capture the business advantages of cloud, mobile, social, analytics and the InterNet of Things. This is now a team game, that cannot be won by individual star players alone. We will discuss how to lead multiple influencing networks and how to collaborate and challenge orthodoxies across organisational boundaries. Don’t ask if you need a CDO, ask if you have the right existing CxOs and if they are working together as digital leaders.”
The Advocacy Strategy that I developed for Concern Worldwide in 2013 includes the approaches to advocacy at three levels: MICRO-on the ground, MESO- at sub-district level and MACRO--the National level.
The Lubombo Child Friendly Court:A Pilot of Social Work Systems Strengthenin...HFG Project
Nearly one in three Swazi girls experiences sexual violence before the age of 18 and one in four suffer physical violence, according to a 2007 UNICEF national study on violence against children in Swaziland.
To help these young victims, the Government of the Kingdom of Swaziland has taken strong steps to support them by providing not only counseling and health services, but also special child-friendly courts (CFCs) to make it easier for them to testify against their attackers. Through the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), the HFG project assisted with developing the country’s third CFC in Siteki, Lubombo, and training social workers to assist young victims.
Ms. Zee Catherine Masuku, MSW, HFG’s Regional Social Welfare Advisor in Swaziland, presented key findings and major lessons learned from this effort at The Network for Social Work Management’s 26th Annual Management Conference in Washington, DC, on June 4, 2015.
