-Anti terrorism mandates. Government agencies are working on antiterrorism. (Priest & Arkin, 2010).
-Preventing law suit for privacy invasion. (Turley, 2012).

3. Effects on society.
-Restrictions in air travel. Passenger searches, ‘no fly lists’ and Federal air Marshalls. (Wood, 2007).
-Databases. “Biographic, immigration and criminal histories of individuals and are shared among law
enforcement agencies”. (Christi & Bergeran, 2011).
-Health issues. Citizens and workers have been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder.
(Wood, 2007).

4. Science involved.
-Energy weapons. Like weapons suggested for the Star Wars program 1983. (Wood & Reynolds,
2006).

-Seismic readings on the day related to explosions. (Rousseau, 2012).
-No planes were used for 911. (Bleier, 2006).
-N.I.S.T used flawed information. (Douglas, 2006).

5. Myths.
-No links between Bush and bin Laden families. (Wheat, 2001).
-FBI didn’t know the hijackers. (Sheehy, 2004).
-No gold at base of 911 towers. (Dwyer, 2001).

6. Conclusion:
These events in history have had an enduring impact on society. They have had influenced not only
the way we interact as a society but also on government legislation. Through acts of terror or acts of
nature, it has forever changed how we view our freedom and security. We are no longer blindly
accepting facts at face value, but are proactive in investigating safety and government to form our
own opinions. While this suspicion may be viewed as a ‘loss of innocence’ it has resulted in society
becoming more aware of what is happening in the world around them.
