For these 2 photographs I used Photoshop's
levels tool to make my model stand out. I did
this by lowering the white and creating a tint
around the edges of the skin. This made my
model stand out. Also the ball became an
important part of the shot. As I wanted my
model in an action shot the ball was the main
focus so I again used the levels tool and made
sure the white of the ball contrasted against
the black background. Here is how I did this
process. I also had to remove the surrounding
edges that I didn't want in my finished
product. I did this by using the selection tool
and cropping the edges and deleting them.

This is the selection tool I
              used to remove the outer
              edges I didn’t want.

This is how I changed the
            levels in Photoshop.

Pages 1-2
For this photo I asked another student to
hold the tackling pad as my model ran in
and tackled him but with the limited
space I decided to take it as a still image.

On Photoshop I used the same levels tool
as I did in the previous slide. This was to
make my model contrast against the
background and also give colour to the
brochure which would attract audiences. I
also cropped the edges out so it wouldn’t
                                                 spoil the photograph.

This is the levels editing tool that is
found in image – adjustments- levels.

Pages 2-3
For this image I did the exact same
procedure as I did on the photograph
from pages 3-4. I cropped the
                                          surrounding edges using the selection
tool and deleting. I then went to image –
adjustments – levels and changed the
levels so my model would become red.
Which by luck contrasted against the
white on the ball he was holding. Here is
the procedure for levels on this
                                          photograph. Also because of branding
rights I had to remove the Steeden logo
from the front of the ball and the Nike
                                          tick from the models t-shirt.

This is the levels adjustment I used
to eventually get my final product.

Pages 5-6
For this image I used a different tool
from the rest. I used blending options
for this photograph. I changed the
blending mode of the image from
normal to lighter colour. I then
                                                             changed the opacity to 37%.

This is the blend mode option that is changed to lighter
colour and this is the opacity slider that is set on 37%.
